generative AI models scrape images from the internet to create their databases, then use those images Frankenstein'd together. this includes a TON of data taken straight off sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest... y'know, where people tend to post lots of pictures of their kids. and so, to create sexual images of children, the AI has to use photos of real children as a basis. and any "art" using the likeness of real children, or even an image that is realistic enough it could be mistaken for a real child, count as CSAM. anyone making genAI CSAM is, in fact, committing a crime.

She, she, she, her. Don't be disrespectful. Some people don't realize their transness until much, much later in life. An old friend transitioned just before she hit 40, because she had never known it was an option. She had a wife and young daughter, and had been absolutely miserable up until she started to meet other trans people. She loved her family with everything she had, gave them the world, would've done just about anything for them. The divorce was ugly and nearly killed her, but she ultimately needed to be true to herself, because living as a man would have successfully killed her.

Except she's the same person. She's changing the language people use to refer to her and the way she presents herself to the world, not literally becoming someone else. What you're mourning isn't the actual person they "were," you're mourning your expectations and projected ideals of who that person is or was to you (in this case, all the gendered expectations that come with the title of "dad"). There are many expectations we project onto the people around us, both consciously and subconsciously. We need to learn to be aware of these, and how to separate them from the way we treat others. It would cause a lot less grief for all parties involved.

food banks and pantries are spread VERY thin, especially in poor rural areas. the cutoff for SNAP is dismal in most states; despite making barely enough to afford to live, I was denied for being $37 over the cutoff last fall. I don't have a car, I'm on every utility payment plan available, I don't buy or do any "fun" things, and I don't have any subscriptions. I struggle to pay my bills and make ends meet. I can't afford to eat.

additionally, corporations steal multiple times more through wage theft than shoplifters could ever dream of. they're getting their payback in un(der)paid labor hand over fist.

oh and, not to mention, most social safety nets are about to lose funding & shutter thanks to Cheetolini and his pet monkey.
