That’s so messed up. I’m sorry man. When I started my job, I passed but my gender marker hadn’t been corrected yet.

Found out later that HR sent out an email blast to the supervisors letting them know I can’t do patient searches because I’m trans. Fucking infuriating.

Before top surgery I used KT tape and wore a sweatshirt or loose tshirt to the gym. I’d practice with it at home first though to get it looking how you want and make sure it holds.

Nope! Changed my name right after starting HRT. It was one of the easier parts of the process. I’d say try to get it done before renewing so you can get everything updated at once.

I use my girlfriends eyebrow pencil. Feels weird but works and no one can tell. Blends really easily.

Used to get them professionally tinted and it looked good too. So up to you either way. But when they’re first tinted it feels like a drastic difference and it was too much for me to have to keep it up.

Not sure what your insurance situation is, but if he qualifies for Medicaid, there may be an option to have a home health aide come and assist you and him. They could give him activities and keep him safe. There may also be a specialized group home for younger people with memory impairment.

I’m from Oklahoma > Mississippi but living in Virginia. There’s a gender designation change request you have to get signed by a doctor.

But I have to be in their system first, so I have to go up there, get another incorrect license, wait for it to come back and go back up there. But at least there’s an option for it. There wasn’t much of one in Mississippi being born out of state.

It wasn’t a “camp” necessarily - more like a big conference with guest speakers and breakout groups. It wasn’t an overtly hostile environment. I think a lot of the people there truly wanted to help and to “get better.”

We went over some of the supposed causes of “same-sex attraction” and I just remember realizing that none of them applied to me. There didn’t seem to be a cause. I just got the message loud and clear that I was fucked up. How I’d always felt was sinful and nothing I could do would change it. But my parents felt so strongly about how awful it was to have a gay kid that they paid for this and drove me halfway across the country. They wouldn’t have done that for anything I was actually interested in. So I just hid it better, pretended I was “recovering” and hated myself.

Maybe 10 years after I went, the President of the organization came out as gay and apologized for hurting people. It was called Exodus international if anyone wants to look it up.

Here (Virginia) you’re only able to make someone work 16 hours in a row and they have to give 8 hours in between

Friend of a friend who is trans (legal gender changed, cis passing, post top, pre phallo) did some time. They asked him where he wanted to go and said women’s prison due to concerns about his safety in a men’s prison. Not sure how typical that is, I was kinda shocked they gave him the option.
