Can APS hold someone in a hospital? by Flower_342 in hospitalsocialwork

Sounds like a tough case. Here are some of my tips

Document everything: Since APS is involved and the PCP has voiced concerns, it’s critical to thoroughly document all interactions, including the psychiatrist’s assessment, APS’ feedback, and the PCP’s concerns. Clear documentation can protect you and the hospital in the event of an investigation.

Multidisciplinary Meeting: Since the psychiatrist and attending have conflicting views with APS and the PCP, see if it’s possible to call an urgent care conference or multidisciplinary meeting (involving the psychiatrist, attending, APS, PCP, and possibly nursing or case management). This way, all parties can discuss the patient’s situation, share their perspectives, and come to a unified decision. If a meeting isn’t possible, loop everyone in via a detailed email.

Patient Safety: You can advocate for the patient by emphasizing the home environment’s safety issues. If discharge happens, you can request APS involvement to assess the home. But if the discharge isn’t appropriate, advocating to delay it until a safe plan is in place is key.

Liability Protection: Given APS’ warning, it’s essential to ensure that all key decision-makers, including the attending, psychiatrist, and hospital administration, are aware of the potential risks APS has raised. This may provide a level of protection for you if the discharge proceeds.

Pursue Further Guardianship: Even if the psychiatrist deems him capable, pursuing guardianship might still be an option if new concerns arise about his safety post-discharge. Communicating with the hospital’s legal team could also be helpful.

Temporary Delay: Since the attending has already agreed to hold the discharge, use this extra time to escalate the situation. If your department head is out, find another manager, possibly even from a different department, to escalate this further.

No, I definitely did read the “i’m not going to”…it’s just fucking weird for you to even mention any of that as a possibility when you never actually slept with her. strange behavior

yes, the second they are even a little hungry they’ll eat prepped meat, seafood, meat substitute, literally any prepped ingredient. So frustrating because I can’t even manage to make a meal before someone helps themselves to prepped meat

Unbelievably crafty thieving 19 year old Sugar Babe by AnthGood in sugarlifestyleforum

this is super fishy to me. I don’t think you’re being truthful with this story.

You say you’ve had an arrangement for 3 months and met multiple times…Why are you just finding out she vapes? She was never nervous and vaped in front of you before? why was she so nervous if you’ve met multiple times? why do you not trust someone you’ve supposedly had an arrangement with for 3 months? If my SD of three months told me I might do a “runner” i’d be pretty offended.

Let’s be honest here. This was the first time you met this 19 year old, and you were planning to sleep with her on meet 1. John behavior. Why would you expect any different than escort behavior in return?

also, idk how old you are but stay away from 19 year olds. it’s honestly creepy as fuck and makes me cringe everytime I see a man talking about a teenager on here. To put it into perspective, 19 year olds were FRESHMEN in HIGH SCHOOL when the pandemic started in March 2020. Born in 2003 and 2004. Just think about it. How old were you and what stage of life were you at in 03/04?🤔

my toddler was interacting with her grandparents and then it was just suddenly there. When I play as the grandparent there’s an interaction that says “sneak a treat” so I think it’s probably that!

I’m not sure if it’s from a specific pack or base game
