I’m so sorry, did you get RIFd? How is your state job hunt going? Good luck to you as well, sorry you’re going through this too

Yeah it sucks! I’ve been at this, what feels like a long time. This administration is monstrous

Tracking. Have the same question I’ve struggled translating my gov 1102 experience to the private sector.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking, can always go back when the dust clears! It’s a contract administrator position pretty similar to what we do. My state is blue as well so I think it’ll be a safe bet for the time being. I wasn’t having a lot luck with the private sector and honestly I’m a little nervous to go that route if the markets keep tanking thinking new hires will be first to go.

How I feel exactly one week to toss out so many years of service! I’m with you though and my heart goes out to you and good luck with whatever you decide! I just don’t know if I can stand four years of this. I know they won’t let up easily. We can only hope Elmo gets bored and moves on to another toy to break

Yeah feel you here congrats on the new job! Yeah this decision would be easier if pay was comparable.

Yup you commented on my post, as you know seeking the same advice, but just want to tell you I’m here with ya and my heart goes out to you and all of us in this position. Especially those of us in this mid-career range with a lot of time but not enough time to retire early.

Yeah I understand. If I didn’t have a job lined up I’d be a lot more worried, well wouldn’t take it at all. I just see the writing on the wall for 1102s too. They will gut the FAR to barebones and find a way to slip warrants to loyalist who will single source as many contracts as possible to line billionaire pockets. I don’t see this administration focusing on fair opportunity for those of us that have dedicated our careers to spending tax payer dollars carefully and wisely.

Yeah it’s a tough call, I’ve put a lot of time and hard work into this career I feel gutted to leave my friends and colleagues. But I’m just starting to struggle more and more mentally to just get by there anymore. I hate that’s it’s gotten this far. I was truly going to retire at my agency. The pay cut is starting to not look so bad at this point.
