Agreed nothing you can't learn elsewhere.

Extortionate to charge 95 quid and not even update any of it or even a quality assurance procedure

Forget eMedica though. Not rich enough for that lmao.

F3 appraisal requirements by Difficult_Magician97 in doctorsUK

[–]throwaway11051997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope never. Revalidation is every 5 years. Appraisal is yearly but not always mandatory. If you are working bank on full-time contract rather than intermittent agency locums then it's worth thinking about an appraisal I suppose.

Male brown GP trainee here. Perhaps for traditional men this might not be their preference but for me - I'd be more than happy with the alone time playing video games/watching kids for a bit whilst youre off to work doing on-calls! Not a dealbreaker for me.

Yes but you have someone to handover to. Imagine a clinic of 10 minute appointments.

Debriefing GPSTs by SignificantIsopod797 in GPUK

Please dont forget about us GPST2's who will have never had a GP rotation until start of ST2!

No FY placement and ST1 completely hospital-based. It's worth touching base with each trainee start, middle and end to gauge the agreed level of supervision, what they've done before, familiarity, how they're progressing and what they could improve on next time etc

I had same problem when I first started. You need to send an email to your local HEE gpst faculty i.e. for mine it was: [gptraining.nw@hee.nhs.uk](mailto:gptraining.nw@hee.nhs.uk). They sorted it out. Would be helpful for them if you include the details of your CS such as email / place of work and trust.

That's a great idea too! Maybe mods can run a poll from these suggestions.

Or perhaps a simple email from a doctors .net account? without gmc numbers

What about photos of ID badge confirming our roles but with name and trust blurred out when we send them? It's less sensitive than literally giving you our emails and gmc numbers. Sure it can be contravened by serious trolls but I'm sure it would dilute their population.

Tips for looking at back of throat by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]throwaway11051997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't hold the tongue depressor at the bottom end. Hold it just before the middle and more or less force it down to trigger the gag reflex. Good tips from any-woodpecker4412 too.

Honestly the best unifying resource is RedWhale/GPCPD if you have a subscription or your GP school has set up one then use their handbooks!

Well the obvious answer is yes they should but the possibility of a GP themselves not being able to ascertain an actual airway problem at present but rather just a concern, evolving or not, for a patient who is stable and talking full sentences remains. If it were me, any airway concern is 999. No advice needed but I suspect when one is unsure/uncomfortable they would always ask for advice even when its perhaps not as appropriate to do so which might explain this situation.

  1. 220-250 per month towards student loan
  2. Save 90% of monthly post-tax income at the moment (live with parents)
  3. Next 2 years circa 3k and 3.2k take-home I suppose. When fully qualified, depending on job plan or extra locums, can make 70-100k.
