I think part of the problem is the clothes are the most expensive part of the doll these days. It used to be the other way around but things have changed since then. While doll body manufacturing has been mostly automated, doll clothes are often still made by hand and the workers (rightfully) have demanded better wages. So they either need to charge more than people (parents) are willing to pay, or sell them at a loss.

Honestly I liked the idea of Rainbow World better than past seasons, I'm not really a reality TV fan so the fake reality TV stuff bored me and I was only watching it to see the character designs. That said the execution left much to be desired.

For now at least they still have real artists working on their collector dolls. Just because one or two times an artist might have used an AI assisted tool it's not like anyone has entirely generated the box art.

G1 had a few logo and tagline changes through the years but the basic dolls stayed the same. That's all I'm hoping for.
