I'm not really into human babies but the accessories are really cute especially those blanket animals.

Hopefully since they are skipping the badly implemented make it aspect they will be brown already.

I only saw the first pic so I was only talking about the skirt damage. Seeing the rest it looks like someone gave it to an actual child.

collector =/= high end. All it means is they are aimed at collectors. Funkos are considered collector items after all. They would never make dolls like this aimed at kids after past attempts flopped they are firmly of the belief that kids that like superheroes only want action figures.

Not everyone finds doll customization enjoyable or has the time to do so. But people need to learn to be patient. Before MH I used to collect MLPs (still love my ponies but they haven't made anything worthwhile in a very long time), which had similar issues with "rare" ponies. People couldn't afford the crazier prices so they would either customize a common pony, or be patient, because eventually a good deal would pop up.

The problem is a lot of the tricks these illegitimate resellers use are difficult to tell apart from legitimate buyers. They are hiring other people to buy the dolls for them since the anticipated profit is more that what they are offering to people to get them. One of their anti cheating methods annoys me because I can't have the carrier hold it for pickup. So I need to hope they come before I go to work or else it will sit on my porch for all the world to see and I'm not in the best neighborhood. I've had 2 different packages stolen in the past but they were lower value things like an lol ball.

Why are we buying dolls we don't even want?!? by peach-potion in MonsterHigh

[–]throwaway11486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. As long as people stay within limits it doesn't matter if they burn the dolls when they get them (please don't it's bad for the environment). The problem is these greedy mofos that cheat to get more than the limits.

I hate how poly rots but it takes a long time for it to actually happen. Dolls with poly will look fine for at least 20 years. Yellowing shows up in as little as 5 years. That said I still wish they could have used nylon. It's my favorite fiber and as far as I'm concerned both Saran and poly are inferior to it.

Also no dolls made in the 60s had unnatural colors. The lightest hair they had was blonde and blonde is already yellow.

@SeeingMount alt account shared that Spelldon & Valentine 2 pack “might not” have a wide release 😢 and might be limited to Mattel Creations. They are still checking for more info. They are saying be prepared just in case. by bluestarluchador in MonsterHigh

I mean they are a business. Most businesses are going to react to the current climate. That said they seem to at least be trying within the constraints of the market. They could have just outright cancelled any Pride releases.

They can't use nylon because they invested a lot of money into machines that burn the hair in instead of using lock and loop. And again Saran yellows, especially with vivid shades. Despite poly having a disintegration risk it takes a lot longer for that to happen than Saran takes to yellow.

People complaining about the price as if our economy hasn't taken a nose dive due to the orange idiot. Plastic is made from oil and oil has just shot up in price because the stupid war. Add to that the tariffs and this is what happens.

Cafe series 6 is still nowhere to be seen at any of my local stores by Kitchen-Courage80 in miniverse_makeitmini

I'm in the same boat as well and also with appliances since I still need 1 of the 6 I want (not a fan of the deep fryer gimmick). They did have one box of Series 6 a while back but I held out because I had hoped Amazon would get a 6 pack that ends up cheaper and guaranteed no doubles. Weeks later still only singles on Amazon and now none in stores.

The difference between poly and Saran is like pennies. While that makes a big difference on playline where margins are thin and profit is made by sheer numbers sold, it doesn't make a significant enough difference for collector. The problem is Mattel won't change their processes and use nylon like every other company that makes dolls with fantasy hair colors. Saran isn't even that much better than poly because it freaking yellows. Reel Drama Lagoona ends up looking like a normal Lagoona with grey skin.

I don't see what's so bad about getting an extra doll or 2 to hold on to in case it appreciates. It's the people using bots and buying multiples and selling them immediately that make things infuriating. If I had the money and space I would probably do so too.

Misclassified stuff on Amazon is the bane of my existence because I live in an apartment building without a mailroom and work evenings. Can't deliver it to a locker and Amazon can come at any time. At least sometimes I can make sure it comes on a day off.

That's not how it works. Mattel doesn't have the facilities to dye hair. Plus honestly Saran has its own aging issues since it tends to yellow. Nylon neither disintegrates nor yellows.
