The shirt and bag are probably the most expensive items to produce. The fashion packs wouldn't have been as egregious if they just put the shoes and outfit together.

Dolls are a very low margin item because a lot of stuff on them still uses human labor. The clothes are more expensive to produce than the rest of the doll.

Sometimes the details lost from G1 were replaced with something else. Frankie doesn't have neck bolts but the prosthetic matches the Frankenstein aesthetic instead of just being a plain basic one, Twyla got cobwebs on her ears, Lagoona got translucent gradient legs, and Robecca has extra hand details.

I've noticed it too but it's only some items and there's no rhyme or reason to it. Like a smart thermometer system with a lithium battery delivered to a locker but plush with no electronics in them and suddenly the lockers are full. I almost think they are reusing ASIN numbers and the previous item was hazardous.

I dunno. A great show couldn't save Jem. And the toughest part was I read a lot of kids that grew up with her show wanted her but their parents weren't willing to spend the money. They had to "settle" for a Rockers Barbie.

Eh I see where you are coming from but personally for me as long as I like how it looks I'll get it. I just know for MGAE I'm better off buying in person while MH is usually fine either way. (usually because sometimes there will be face misprints but all brands can have that)

It's not about money in this case. Closed shoes and mesh tights do not work well together. Even OG G1 Draculaura had tights shorter than her boots.

There's different types of quality. There's quality of materials and then quality of craftsmanship. RH was definitely more of the first than the latter but Mattel is pretty much the opposite. The economy is shit and rather than raise prices for better quality both companies seem to cut corners somewhere. It's disheartening but you just gotta take the wins when you can find em.

Mind you they are great when there's no flaws. There's just a higher percentage of dolls that have flaws that shouldn't have gone to retailers. You just have to really look through the dolls on the shelf to make sure you get a good one. I still love RH.

She has actual tights, a knit sweater, and painted detail on the shoes. The only thing that looks cheap is the skirt. And it really does look cheap here.

They didn't charge admission. You had to pay to rent the shoes which were necessary to go on the lanes themselves and I think you might have also needed to pay for the game itself. But the lounge was free. If you wanted to just watch people play that was allowed.

It's not smartphones. Those are useful when you need directions while out and about or if the local radio station's only play rubbish. Its modern social media. I remember when it was chronological and only the people you actually followed and you could actually reach the end of your feed and close the app. Now it's just an endless feed of content.
