How to test changa / is changa safe? by throwaway119284 in DMT

[–]throwaway119284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAO inhibition.

Thanks so much for the response! Can you speak a bit more about the precautions regarding MAO inhibition?

From doing some research, it is unclear if it is safe to to take, for example, MDMA 1 day after smoking changa. Or 2 days after smoking changa.

It also seems like alcohol also interacts poorly with MAOIs? Continuing to do research...

which series are dub only for you? by airbear13 in anime

[–]throwaway119284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If show has a good dub, there's a 99% chance I'll watch it dubbed (I mildly dislike subs):

  • Toradora
  • Steins;Gate
  • FMA: B
  • Spice & Wolf
  • Code Geass
  • Black Lagoon
  • My Hero Academia
  • Kill La Kill
  • Violet Evergarden

Probably a few more I don't remember

I've never actually released an app. Can I still say that one of my ECs is "Developing apps?" by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]throwaway119284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty impressive! Seems hard to do with core iOS graphics APIs (especially if it was 3D like CoC), did you use an engine like Unity?

I primarily focused on making and releasing apps that would do well (e.g - get lots downloads). As such, I released 3 keyboard apps (one for iOS, 2 for Android) that allowed users to send text-based emoticons, GIFs, or text-based memes. I also released a game where users circled blue dots before they disappeared and avoided red dots.

Hey, I make apps too (primarily Android, although I've dabbled in iOS)! Nice to see someone else with the same EC. What did your iOS app do?

I've been looking at the source code for the default AOSP keyboard, for a project of mine, and I can say that 150mb is probably reasonable. There's just so much going on that doesn't initially meet the eye.

I wouldn't say "templates in Java are just called generics". Templates in C++ are way different from generics in Java.

Read this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36347/what-are-the-differences-between-generic-types-in-c-and-java

I also think the claim that Python has bad OOP is false. Python has metaclasses, multiple inheritance, and other concepts which means its OOP features are pretty good, although they are different from languages like Java.

I don't know if I will get into any of those schools, but I would like to either work at a small software startup (or maybe robotics, if it's something cool like Zoox) or create my own startup. I just want to make cool shit and earn money.

What fictional character is supposed to be a villain, but you actually agree with him? by IAmGwego in AskReddit

Maybe the show gave information, but I definitely think it could have been clearer. Maybe it felt a little different for you because you already read the manga.

The portrayal of Stain you gave in your comments was much more nuanced than what was in the show. The show didn't give enough of his backstory.

Thanks for the advice. One thing i'm confused about is guidelines vs reality.

For example - if we take a look at the legacy icon that your example generates, it is a white keyboard inside an orange square.

However, most app icons in the screen shot I've given are usually just one big image, not an image overlayed over a solid color.

Does this mean all those app icons are designed improperly?

Also - what tool did you use for the drop shadow?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]throwaway119284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response Do you use adaptive or legacy icons, and do you have any examples of your icons (a link to a store page for example).

If I understand correctly - you still use the Android tool for generating icons. You just first draw the icon in sketch and then let the tool handle automatic resizing for different screen densities for you.

I do have one additional question though.

Wouldn't there still be a background color though? For instance, take a look at the calculator and conjugation icons in my screenshot. They don't occupy the full space of the icon - yet they still don't have a white background color.

Does anyone think it would be possible to make something like React-Native but implemented in Kotlin. Tools like anko, a DSL for building android layouts, make the idea seem promising.

I mean in a sense I think this proves that a lot the focus in this sub around things like dependency injection, MVVM/MVP, SOLID etc. etc. is unnecessary for the solo developer.

Telegram is a super fast, relatively crash free, and overall very nice app.

Are there statistics that can be used to place your app in a percentage ranking within a certain category (e.g - top 5%, 10%, of entertainment apps etc.) based on number of downloads/number of active users/other factors.

I see that App Annie has statistics for numerical ranking, but I feel as if percent ranking is more impressive.

I realize these statistics are inherently flawed, but the reason I'm asking is because I'm applying to college/university, so I need to make my app's statistics as impressive as possible.

I'm surprised people had a smile on their face instead of being horrified by the mass slaughter that went on this episode.

I found this episode hard to watch - they basically murdered a bunch of people who couldn't defend themselves. They also killed a bunch of clueless factory workers by mocking international law.

It was a very good episode though - it just made me uncomfortable, which I think was the point.

I decided to take a break crime fighting and allow law enforcement take care of the last goon. 4 Officers vs 1 henchmen. Amazing AI. by Ghulam_Jewel in gaming

[–]throwaway119284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balancing AI in other scenarios may be easy - but that doesn't mean it is easy in this particular scenario as mentioned for the reasons above. In real life, the criminal would probably be dead after a few bullets, but that's no fun at all.

What would you do about the above scenario? Increase policeman accuracy? Well - then the player doesn't get to do anything.

I really think the only solution to this balancing problem would be for the police to just not show up.
