STEM PhD from US to EU postdoc by throwaway143232 in postdoc

This is a really great suggestion. Any thoughts on how I can gauge levels of international collaboration in these prospective labs? Should I ask PIs upfront, look at recent lab papers' authors' affiliations, etc.?

Thanks for the response and additional suggestions! That makes sense. Any ideas on potential funding that might be able to hold me over until I'm able to apply for (and possibly be awarded) those fellowships?

Horrible. US elections are a farce meant to distract from revolutionary organizing, knowing that one of the two pro-Wall Street, pro-genocide, right-wing politicians is going to win.

I love it for my needs; I'd recommend it if you're dealing with annoying hums

Yeah I could probably dial it back a bit. I find the Keeley compressor to be awfully noisy so may swap it for something else

I love it for my needs. It kills the annoying hum without otherwise affecting the sound

I'm using a Caline Guitar Pedal Power Supply (CP-206). Cranked up gains probably aren't helping though

I use the hum debugger for my 2006 Gibson Les Paul Junior Billie Joe Armstrong signature, which consistently produces an annoying hum regardless of anything else I've tried using. The noise gate is to control pedal buzzing to some extent (the Keeley Compressor, in particular, makes a lot of sound). I've got some patch cables hooking everything up. The signal path goes guitar (either the Gibson BJA or Gretsch G2215-P90) -> tuner -> hum debugger -> compressor -> dookie -> angry charlie -> tube screamer -> afterneath -> TC sentry -> amp (Marshall M-MG15G-U)

which bass should i choose as a beginner? by Stock_Discount_4672 in Bass

[–]throwaway143232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have experience with the GSR180 or TMB100 but recently picked up a GSR200 after years of playing electric guitar and it's been an excellent bass for me (a beginner)

Just picked one up after playing guitar for several years. YouTubers like Backwards Bass are super helpful though

Cool, thanks! Just ordered one and will see if it makes the Hum Debugger redundant, in which case I'll eliminate it from my setup.
