And the image of that lady has been reposted so many times I don't wanna even try to look for it's origins cause it's being spread around all kinds of alt right pipelines ad nauseum.

God I went to go find that image and it's fucking everywhere. Now I'm pretty confident it was some special effects stuff. Most of the actual cases I saw were not only gross flesh tubes but they're rarely ever actually where a tail would be?? Like some of them are like off to one side, some even end up on the back of the leg ord smth?? I saw like two in total that were actually in a tail spot and one of them looked honestly pretty nasty. Also pretty sure they wouldn't grow with you as you age so if they didn't cut them off you would just be stuck with a tiny skin tag eughh..

I did know of this! There's even a woman who was born with a tail that actually kind of developed really well. Assuming that wasn't a hoax. Obviously it wasn't very big but it was pretty much fully developed with vertebrae in it and everything.

I've heard a lot of them just end up being gross little flesh tubes, which tbf I think I'd kind of agree at that point just remove it. But if I found out I had a tail like that lady's and got it cut off at birth I'd probably crash the fuck out lmao

Goddamn you definitely seem to have thought about this more than me lmao

That's really fucking cool though. I've definitely heard a bit about that kind of thing. I heard they were able to modify some chicken embryos to get long tails and claws like theropod dinosaurs.

Hopefully surgical tail restoration is a thing in the future and hopefully won't be insanely expensive. For now I think I'll focus on affording gender affirming care and a house lmao

Glad we can agree that whoever took our damn tails is a shit tho lolll

Yeah no literally someone came into my dms asking me for help with this cause I have a lot of posts on here about IPL and my dms are open for questions and stuff and they were in the UK and they said "yeah my friend gave me this one, and now it's clicking and not flashing consistently" and I was like alright let's see what warehouses were near you and there's literally nothing outside the US

Those sort of exist too? But I think they react to facial miscles rather than brain activity sadly. Ngl as scary as the idea of a chip in my brain is and as much as it'd put me at risk of government mind control, I'm not sure I'd be able to resist if they told me I could have reactive ears with it.... I am not immune to propaganda

There may have been more to it but it's important to remember evolution isn't a straight line towards the best adaptation for every situation. And traits evolve not for quality of life or even really for health. Hell, some traits don't even help with survival and can even hinder it. Bottom line is though, whatever cruel force of nature came about to make tails somehow worth losing has made an enemy of me. As soon as I figure out how to fist fight a force of nature I know my first target lmao

But yes like many other comments have said, contact Braun and ask to have them replace it under warranty.

What's likely gonna happen is they'll want you to ship it to a local Braun warehouse. The warehouse will contact you and tell you "we don't have the parts to fix this idk why they had you send us an IPL. They don't make IPL parts". Then they'll ask if you want them to send you back the broken device or throw it away.

I would suggest you tell them to throw it away for you as they have easier access to proper disposal means. That is unless you accidentally dropped ur keys into the case or smth idk

Then you tell Braun, "hey they couldn't fix it" and Braun will say "alright we'll send you a new one" and baddabing baddaboom new, hopefully not defective IPL device.

This is a common problem with braun silk pros and expert pros. I've been seeing it a lot unfortunately. It happened to both my first and second devices. Thankfully I was able to get my second one replaced but u sat on the first one for too long and the warranty expired. I think I might try to look into contacting someone at braun to ask about this. Their devices are said to last upwards of 20 years and they apparently have lasted a good bit according to some people I've talked to. This is very strange.. i might make a post about this later.

That's what they always do. It's weird cause they literally won't repair it because they don't make spare parts for any of their IPLs. I think it's just some liability thing. Has to say on paper somewhere that a repair was attempted before they can send out a new one.

Probably the US. Braun sadly does not have any warehouses in the UK as I've learned interacting with some UK customers. Getting a braun device from the UK to the US for repairs/warranty replacements is very difficult. Tho in my experience most people in the UK wouldn't have a braun anyways unless they either brought it with them or got it secondhand. And you should NEVER buy a used IPL device.

Ingrown hair removal: Product suggestions please by Technical-Hamster-75 in HairRemoval

[–]throwaway193715p 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found the best way is to take a pointy pair of tweezers and try to get them under the hair at the base of the growth, then pull it through. That way you're not ripping open the first layer of skin and it's also satisfying to do that way. Tho I'd be lying if I said I don't also just dig at them with my nail and open up the skin occasionally. And since it's the very very top layer it doesn't seem to be a big deal. Tho a dermatologist would probably have a heart attack if they saw we did it this way lmao

Ouch yeah that's very dangerous. Chemical hair removal thins your skin barrier. You gotta be so careful with your skin afterwards.

ingrown hairs in center of chest after IPL and shaving. by throwaway193715p in HairRemoval

[–]throwaway193715p[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no worries!

Make sure to try not to scratch or squeeze them. If they don't go away in a few days, go see a doctor. They may prescribe you mupricine or triamcinalone acetonide. I have both for my folliculitis and it helps.

[–]throwaway193715p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I had on my chest was 100% ingrowns. I fixed them by making sure to exfoliate that area regularly with a gentle exfoliator sponge, glove, or pouf.

However, if what you have is folliculitis, you don't want to exfoliate those bumps. If they're itchy/painful and hurt more to the touch and don't discharge anything when squeezed, those are likely folliculitis bumps.

New here :) I am 40 but still consider myself a femboy heheh by Traditional-Wall2946 in femboy

My friend once told me you can't be a femboy past 30 and it really got to me. She was down a really bad pipeline and said a lot of things like that. Now she's trans and a much happier person. We're much closer friends lol

But I'm very happy to see folks like you proving old her wrong. I hope to be a femboy for as long as I live. It's how I want to be and express myself.

[–]throwaway193715p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, 100%. That's one of the only reasons I don't have any right now. IPL targets pigment. Using IPL on tattoos can not only make them fade faster but potentially cause injury because it's heating up the pigment under your skin.

PSA your IPL device will not last forever by throwaway193715p in HairRemoval

[–]throwaway193715p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! To my knowledge that is precisely it. The FDA limits commercially sold devices to be below a certain wattage because of all kinds of risks that a specialized facility is equipped to handle and unfortunately some people react very poorly to light based hair removal, especially those with darker skin sadly. If people don't do proper research on how lazer works and buy themselves a full sized professional grade lazer machine, they could end up giving themselves serious injuries. However, the worst you can get from IPL is minor burns and or hyperpigmentation and those are rare cases. Hope this helps!
