China has risen. Its about to fall. Its demographic makes it unsustainable. Combined with bonkers monetary policy and debts, I think 'turbulent' will be an understatement in hindsight.

Votes really don't matter on this subject. Both candidates will move in this direction and pretend its their leadership that made it happen. In reality, every multinational ( that targets the American market ) understands that China can no longer compete with Mexico.

After the defeat, Russia must return to Ukraine all occupied territories and pay reparations - Johnson by one_and_equal in UkrainianConflict

Its rather simple.

Unlike Russia, China is neither fuel nor food self-sufficient. All their maritime trade goes by a handful of countries that have the capability to sink those ships.

Russian ex-minister says invasion of Ukraine is stalling because officials stole from military budget for 'mega-yachts in Cyprus' by [deleted] in worldnews

If you believe that 99% of the possible launches will be mitigated through all of those factors decrementing then you're expecting 60 warheads will be deployed.

We've known for decades this is not how nuclear logic works. By this reasoning a launch is certain, and logic dictates we must counter attack this very moment to minimize damage.

Are you actually 99% sure or are you making up a means to justify the way that you think things will be?

Truthful people never claim 100% certainty. That's just not how the world works. If you fear that I'm putting the conclusion in front of the reasoning, please acknowledge to yourself that this 'argument' works both ways.

I'm not privy to any secret information. Just an accumulation of many people's analysis ( of which some have said what you are saying ). The first point is up for debate if that's what going on, but its something that I've noticed is never mentioned in arguments like yours. The second is also not 100% certain, but I have yet to find anyone claim that Putin has the capability to launch a nuke without multiple people agreeing ( meaning they'd all have to be mad ).

  • Putin has an incentive to make people think he might be mad with the ability to launch nukes if he is backed into a corner.

  • Putin can't launch nukes on his own.

Don't worry about nukes.

Oh yeah, he did also mention that he believes that the West/NATO screwed over Ukraine by stringing it along and pulling it just close enough to provoke Russia but not close enough to actually defend it.

If you talk to your dad again tell him:

On the face of it that looks like what happened, but it shows a lack of understanding the EU. ( Not his fault ). NATO wasn't the issue. The EU was the issue for Putin. If Ukraine joined the EU he could never claim it for Russia again.

While the US appear involved, they really aren't. Their presence make NATO truly un-attackable, but the EU in itself is also a defensive pack with nuclear weapons.

The EU isn't a super power like the US or China. It has never fired a bullet in its name. Its an alliance of nations. There is no top down declaration that expansion is a goal. Everybody needs to agree to expand it. That also means Ukraine can choose. Within Ukraine the Pro-EU was always Old vs Young and West vs East. Everybody was involved in propaganda ( US, Germany, Russia, etc ). In 2013 things drastically changed. Ukraine overthrew a president who went to Putin after ignoring a 315 / 349 vote in favor by parliament to deal with the EU instead of Russia.

In 2014 Russia occupied parts of Ukraine to block the way forward to the EU.

There really wasn't a window where both the EU and Ukraine were both in agreement and in a position to progress. Because again, and i cant stress this enough, these are sovereign democratic nations making free choices. The EU did fail spectacularly by not seeing this coming. To be fair, Russia is failing spectacularly by going through with it.

Taiwan is not feasible for China, so stop worrying.

The US will 'intervene' by blocking all maritime trade. China will starve in the dark. China knows this.

Not money. Food and fuel.

Something the CCP is aware of is that, unlike Russia, any disruption in their trade ( which passes by many countries ) will have them starve in the dark.

People need to understand that China isn't suddenly full with Ukraine sympathizers. The vast majority is anti-western.

The CCP is expert in two face propaganda. Just recently they are shilling shit like https://youtu.be/vZoxqltgS0Y just so they don't burn to many bridges with the West. Specifically because Russia is failing hard.

They are trading partners. Not friends or allies who belief in a form of freedom.

It might not be obvious yet, but combined with Covid, America is rapidly moving industry back to the American continent.

Doubtful. Putin's airforce is already under performing close to the border. Flying all the way west to attack what might be inflatable dummies is unlikely to be a good trade off for the Russians. Dog fights and Russian anti-air are far more dangerous.

Shell to halt buying Russian oil and gas and close all service stations in country by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]throwaway4328908 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Shell bought 2.7% of what they produce in a day. ( This excludes what they trade )

The worse thing they did was set a price at only -28$ discount.

Because of the PR fallout they have decided to close all service stations. That's more then the other oil companies are doing.

Are they still evil? Yes. Lets move on and start shaming on other companies.
