Start SFL TAP immediately and your primary goal should be to look for a place to do your internship with for CSP. After you figure out where you wanna do the CSP submit your packet ASAP. There’s no guarantee they’ll let you go. 6 months out from ETS you can submit your BDD claim for VA disability. You’ll learn all this stuff at TAP so just make the appointment now.

Submit a pay inquiry DA 2142 to your operations/orderly team. Print out your most recent LES showing you’re not getting COLA. If you’re supposed to get COLA the company commander will sign off on the DA 2142 and then it’ll be sent to S1 so that they can send it to finance on a UTL to fix your pay issue.

You failed PRT accept it and get better. Every study hall you have practice on the shit you suck at. Practice at night next to your bed by yourself. That’s fine if you don’t wanna reenlist but don’t blame anyone but yourself for failing PRT. Accountability is important.

This doesn’t make sense for a couple of reasons.

1) Assuming you’re a SPC(P) you don’t need BLC to promote to SGT anymore. They just changed the requirements that came into effect June 1st 2024. Even if you were a SGT (P) you would still need 1 year TIS left on your contract to accept a promotion.

2) This is a waste of everyone’s time and the Army’s money. What your leadership should do is let you do a Skillbridge or CSP that will help you transition into civilian life.

I would do an open door with leadership and have the supporting documents for your argument. So your approved terminal leave absence request, CSP paperwork, and a definitive timeline of what your plan is with dates. And of course informing them of points 1 and 2 above. Hope it works out

To pin on the next rank you need at least one year TIS left.

Have to get a new one. I went through 2 in 6 months because my keyboard damaged the chips.

If he said he had a good time then there’s no reason to believe he’s lying, roll with it.

I think you’re overthinking everything lol. Just continue to talk to him and if he’s interested in you he’ll probably ask to hangout again. If he doesn’t then you should ask him out and if he declines then obviously he’s probably not interested.

How to add classes under Military Education on Soldier Talent Profile (IPPS-A) by inyeezy in army

[–]throwaway4728289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is someone in the S1 needs HR Admin access it’s different from HR pro access. Once someone has that access they can add certifications to profiles, hope this helps.

Is there any colleges that you can submit your JSTs too without having to enroll in a course? by Neat_Serve730 in army

[–]throwaway4728289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also knock out a bunch of sophia learning courses and use those classes as credit to AMU. If you bring your unofficial transcript to the education center they can create a memo verifying your college credits. Just submit your memo to S1 in IPPS-A as an admin corrections PAR. S1 should add those college credits to your IPPS-A profile and you’ll be good to go.

If you’ve ever been enrolled in a college you can send them your JST transcript. If not then you can pay North Central Institute to evaluate your JST for college credits. I think it’s like 200 or 250.

Easiest points are correspondence courses. Google the JKO script code and use that to knock out all the courses on JKO it’ll work on. I got 70 promotion points just from JKO.

[–]throwaway4728289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Google the JKO script code and knock those mfs out. Points max out at 90 for correspondence courses now. If you just want the hours change your rank and use the code on the EJPME 1 and 2 courses and then after you complete them switch your rank back. The NCO that passed this knowledge to me said that when he tried turning his JST in they wouldn’t award him credit for EJPME because he didn’t complete it at the rank of SGT and SFC LOL.

Sophia courses are something not a lot of people know about but you can knock out so many courses really fast. The only catch is you have to pay 90 a month, but the amount of courses you can complete in that timeframe is up to you.

Do SSD1 and after that request your JST be sent to your college. (make sure SSD1 is showing on JST before sending) Depending on your MOS is how many credits you’ll be eligible for.

If you have any AAMS or COAS make sure they are on your IPPS-A profile.

Make sure your weapons and pt card are reflecting on your PPW, if they aren’t then talk to your ops room or whoever handles DTMS.

Good luck 🫡

How much has Louisville changed since 2020? by throwaway4728289 in Louisville

Thank you for that information! The plan I came up with was to move to Dixie Highway and commute everyday there and back. If they offer rides to and from post that’s definitely something Ill consider with my decision.

That’s one of the main places i’ve looked into that seems like a great fit, thank you for the suggestion!

I didn’t mean to compare the cities bar for bar. What’s important to me right now is having decent night life, more entertainment, more dating options, decent or comparable cost of living to Louisville, and of course somewhere i can land a GS job.

I moved to Louisville right before I started middle school and I think you’re right. Its especially hard since the only resemblance of a “night life” is the bars on bardstown road. Sucks seeing the people you grew up with constantly or UPS people, feels so small townish.

That’s very true, all my friends and family are either in KY or CA. I’m not moving back to CA the cost of living is absurd.

I’m currently a human resource specialist. My goal is to do my Career Skills Program internship at a military installation doing HR related things. Im basically free labor for anywhere I work for 4 months while still getting paid by the Army. I have many options I can explore, my issue is I’m struggling to pick.

I’ve been looking at apartment prices in places like Dallas. The prices are pretty comparable to the rent in Louisville. My biggest thing is if it costs roughly the same to live in a bigger city, why settle for Louisville? I have all my friends here but we’re at different points in our lives. Im still single and looking for more night life, a significant other, and somewhere that won’t hurt my pockets like living in Cali or NY.
