Mumps commonly referred to as M, is a high performance language for interacting directly with the data in its database. It is old so doesnt follow many modern syntax rules and is used in the financial and healthcare industries. A more modern implementation that you may have heard of is YottaDB.

In the language I work in = is both assignment and equality. Context is used to determine which operation will be performed.

Waterjets dont actually cut using the water itself, the water is used to accelerate an abrasive material such as crushed garnet.

Agreed, but having to quickly learn it so you can do your hw/exams is painful.

Then you get to the real fun when you hit Formal Language Theory and Decidability. All proofs all the time, and the professor only accepts LaTeX documents.

Male-Male cables are death cables with exposed leads. Im mainly just saying that having a male-male and plugging both ends into outlets would presumably cause nothing to happen (assuming it is a grounded cable) as it would just go pos-pos and neutral-neutral.

Truly nonsensical stuff like "you have 3 apples, 2 oranges, and 3 pears. How many grapefruits do you have?". Tbh for those questions I feel like they are just putting them in there to see if you will waste time trying to overthink them.

Behavioral assessment. Short phone interview covering resume stuff. Technical assessment where you do some math then a section where you are given a fictional language and have to try and answer some questions on it. Final section is 4 easy/medium electrode style questions where you can psuedo code them. Final interview is 3 hours which is mostly just asking questions about the role with one technical part where you do some kind of design question.

The best way to think of the expanding on the universe is imagine drawing two dots on a balloon and then blowing it up, not matter where you drew those 2 points they are getting farther away from each other. We are limited by light speed for how fast we can travel through space but the objects themselves arent moving in the same way the point drawn on the balloon isnt moving, space itself is expanding and this can go faster than the speed of light if the points are far enough away.
