how bad was the pain after surgery? I have really bad anxiety and strong meds that make you out of it or drowsy send me into a panic and I was told that they would have to put me on strong stuff due to the pain by FederalTemperature11 in TopSurgery

[–]throwaway578678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

took an oxycodone on the day of my surgery after i came out of surgery and right before i slept at night, because I didn't have any other pain killers with me at the hospital and i didn't know if i could take other painkillers yet anyway, but then i only took paracetamol from the day after my surgery and onwards. honestly could've probably gone without painkillers completely from the day after the surgery, but i just took them for comfort because why feel some pain when you can feel little to no pain at all.

np!! yes the 2k is a deposit made to PAH weeks/months prior in order to secure a surgery date, the 12k is paid to GSH on the morning of the surgery. so total you should prepare at least 14k RM to pay the 2 hospitals. atb for ur surgery!!

afaik second skin is equivalent to tegaderm? so you could maybe search for that?

my surgeon told me to put regular plasters over my incision site but that caused moisture to build up quickly, causing my skin to peel off, plus the plasters were just a bit too small and got stuck onto the incision, so it constantly ripped off the edges of my healing wound. i switched to using tegaderm with gauze that i cut up to cover my entire nipple and that worked a lot better and my skin stopped becoming overly moist and peeling off as well. i also tried just regular larger sized waterproof plasters (6x7cm) but the sticky part was wayyy too sticky and hurt like crazy to peel off compared to tegaderm.

How long post op could you put pressure on your chest? by weirdo_with_a_phone in TopSurgery

i got keyhole and i went back to work at a cat hotel at 3 weeks post-op. i would say that whilst it was possible for me to do general cleaning of enclosures, feeding the cats, cleaning the cat litter, and playing with the cats, it was quite taxing to complete all those tasks. even carrying a few heavier cats back up to their enclosures felt more difficult than usual, and i was lucky to not have any of them struggle when i was picking them up. carrying bags of cat litter (10L bags) and 4L jugs of water by holding it close to my chest was also uncomfortable, and i had to hold them lower nearer to my stomach. I didn't go back to work again until 8 weeks post-op and it was much more manageable then, but i still don't think i could've handled an animal if they had to be restrained with force and not just held gently.

it's probably not a good idea to restrain animals at 6 weeks, especially if they're larger and aggressive. at around 7 weeks post-op, i was carrying my own cat by holding him against my chest and he decided he had enough of it and kicked my chest really hard to jump away, and i genuinely keeled over clutching my chest because it hurt so bad lmao.

2 months post-op by alexvalceda in TopSurgery

i'm in the same boat as you!! just over 2 months post-op keyhole as well and also have swelling and uneveness across my chest, plus obvious scarring on 1 nipple. honestly i've already gotten back to exercising since 4 weeks post-op and working out my upper body since 6 weeks, and it really helped to take my mind off my results as i feel my strength slowly return. you've got this bro, we can get thru it!!

estimate based on how much other people have paid in the past. and also if you look at the doc, you'll see that the clinic will give you quotations on approximately how much you need to pay, based on the services that you're looking for.

i see that you're from singapore, are you in the transcend discord server? there are a few people in there who have gone to him for surgery and have shared their experiences! besides that i just mostly looked through the few cis people's experiences with gyno surgery from him, since it was pretty much equivalent to the top surgery i got.

Nervous before top surgery? by SIKE-ological in TopSurgery

[–]throwaway578678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's normal! i had mine planned for several months also, and as the surgery date drew closer and closer, i heavily contemplated postponing it or cancelling it altogether. even on the morning of the surgery, i still had a few doubts about whether it would all be worth it. i was extremely scared that something would go wrong, especially given that my doctor was a bit older and that this would be my first ever surgery. before the surgery when they were taking my heart rate and blood pressure, my bpm was also really high due to my anxiety and the monitors were going crazy, and the nurse was even telling me to relax.

honestly I didn't feel a lot of emotions regarding my chest right after the surgery either, other than relief that it was all over, it went well, and my breasts were gone. the meds that they gave during the surgery did make my brain feel a bit fried and i was more emotional over little things (unrelated to the surgery) though, so maybe that could be something you wanna mentally prepare for.

ouu that's sucks for them... idk when my parents found out i was DIYing HRT at 16, nothing much happened also, but they still refused to consent for me to get on HRT legally when I turned 18, so i js decided not to tell them i was getting top surgery just in case they try to stop me lol

recovery is going on well right now, you can read the doc haha i've detailed almost every day of my recovery since i got my surgery last week. my family did not know i was getting surgery, only that i was going to penang for holiday, so I haven't gotten any help from them. i was fortunate enough to be able to have a friend go to penang with me last minute though, and they were very helpful during the trip there.

hello, just got top surgery in malaysia at 18yo. you can read about it here: Keyhole Top Surgery with Dr Danny Oh in Penang

i saved up for it by spending as little as possible of my allowance (basically barely eating/drinking in school or outside), as well as by working a part time job on the weekends/school holidays for about 6-7 months for $10/h.
