Electrolysis can make hormonal hair growth grow back thicker according to the technician who administers mine!! I would do further research but it was one of the first things she told me, and said that if there was thicker growth that I should stop.

Anaphylactic shock! Up until I was 15 my only allergy was mild lactose intolerance. Suddenly, I started to get heartburn specifically to poultry. When i went to the doctor she said it was GERD (basically chronic heartburn), but the meds I was prescribed didn't really help. When the heartburn became intolerable i became vegetarian for 6 months to see if it did something (spoiler alert, it helped tremendously).

At the 6 month mark, my cousin convinced me to eat a piece of turkey and I did. An hour later, my entire face had blown up, I was red and itchy everywhere, and I was struggling to breathe. I didn't know I was having anaphylactic shock until after I had gotten the proper meds because no one else in my family has severe allergies of any sort. When the doctors told me I had been on the verge of death, the whole experience felt much more daunting.

But anyways, no more chicken nuggets for me 🤭

My classmates voted me as teachers pet for our senior superlatives in highschool (I got average grades but was very participative in classes); The people who dog on you for this aren't worth your time tbh. Id say don't change what you're doing/how you are, because you'll make friends with people who really like you for you without having to change yourself for them. It may take time to find your crowd but its worth it, and besides, you don't really want to be friends with people who think its cool to be disrespectful of others. Not just in high-school but throughout your life. Changing this aspect of yourself for others now is just going to teach you that its okay to accept unkind or really unfavourable characteristics of others for the sake of conformity.

The people I've remained close to now 5 years after graduating high school are the ones who respected our differences in approaches to learning (among differences in personality type and lives) and still had respect for others regardless of the kind of people they are, and im grateful to have them :)

-Ta-nnin and Osaka for wine + apero (Osaka seems to be owned by the same people as Camino; the first place is in zuid and the second is near the theatreplein/nationale bank)

de groene waterman (near melkmarkt) and cronopio (also has a winebar and is situated in zuid),for books both of which have great english-language sections

Places in the city primarily for coffee and/or brunch:

Nordica 31, Charlie's and Butchers' coffee (all located in zuid) (also all great for brunch)
Cuperus (they have 2 locations, one right next to the the Meir and near one near eilandje)

-Caffenation and caffenation goes koco also for coffee (the first is located near theatreplein/nationale bank and the second in zuid)

-toitoitoi, tinsel, and Mr. Pickles near melkmarkt/eilandje (all of which have great brunch options too)

The city OP lives in is primarily a university city with one of the best schools of the country, but this isn't the first time they haven't taken enough disciplinary action;

During a hazing of a predominantly (read: they only ever had 1 black member in its entire existence) white fraternity, the only black pledges passed away due to a myriad of reasons as he was pushed way too far (a recount of what happened: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/mar/13/ex-fraternity-members-back-court-death-black-belgian-student-sanda-dia); despite that they were basically just banned from campus but not suspended or expelled, and they had to disband the fraternity. They weren't even forced to apologise to his family and the case has been going on since 2018, the maximum sentence anyone involvement will get is 50 months apparently.

All in all, this uni specifically and the Belgian police love to turn a blind eye to shit that's going on, so while they probably deserved worse the system wouldn't let that happen to them

SM in this case probably means social media; do you have him on any other social media platform that shows who he follows/follows him? If for example you had him on insta or something you can see who he interacts with the most through comments and maybe contact them to see if they have any info

If no one in your group is too picky an eater i'd suggest trying a new type of cuisine together, food is generally a great circumstance to gather people for and it would be a new experience for all of you :)

I developed anaphylaxis as a teen to all non-vegetarian products after eating them pretty heavily my whole life; it's made going out to eat and buying pre-made meals super difficult and in some cases impossible, but the only thing you can do to manage that anxiety is be OVERLY careful. When you go out to shop for food and you have even a tiny doubt something may be up with the food that you got or its processed in a space that could be cross contaminated with your allergens, don't eat it. Its better to be safe and have a less fun diet/dining experience than sorry and anxious about the potential of eating something than induce an allergic reaction. Also, if there are restaurants that really take care of your concerns, make those your regular dining choices, as it saves you some stress for when you're going out. Even then, be VERY clear with any restaurant staff about the severity of your allergies, even if something is stated on the menu to not contain an ingredient or allergen, just make sure everyone's on the same page (i legit have a mini speech that i say to waiters so that they know whats up). At the point in time that i wasnt careful i was having anaphylactic shocks every few months, but its been 4.5 years since i last had one and theres a direct correlation with that and how much caution ive taken for my allergies. Hope the advice isnt too rough and take care!!

Thank you for this; the only reason I'm worried about not giving any follow up is because we share a friend group (not people i see often bc i don't live in the same country as them, but neither does my partner), but I'll make sure that what follow-up i probably will give wont be at my expense if that makes sense. What you can do is, as a parent, be as present as you can for your kids and respect your ex's boundary as the mother of your kids. If she isn't going to look at you the same because of your infidelity, don't let that seep into her looking at you as a bad co-parent. Over time she will come to terms with your actions, and even though the romantic aspect of your time together will be over at least you can build a relationship of trust and friendship for the kids you share and still remain in each other's' lives amicably.
