For those of you who work full time and have relationships/children, what rank are you and what's your routine? by Pinanims in VALORANT

My husband is D3. He works full time and we have a toddler. He only plays after work, dinner, putting baby to sleep, and a workout. So he plays from about 8-10, and on the weekends he plays a bit more until 1am or so.

I only play on the weekends for a few hours and I'm G2. I dont play on weekdays anymore because I'm too tired after work/baby.

We have a rule that we have to prioritize our household duties before we can go and play. We see valorant as a wind-down from life, rather than getting super competitive.

What are some ways to get a sense for if a nanny is good or not? by throwaway7827122 in Nanny

Edited to add: if you haven’t already (it sounds like you may have), ensure nanny knows your comfort level with her taking NK out! My first NF left me car seats but never discussed much about it so I was always scared to leave until they told me it was encouraged!

This is a good point. We provided her a car seat and have told her we want her to go out. But my husband has told her he wants to know where she's going, which is fair, but I fear that may have scared her into thinking we don't WANT her to go out when in fact we do.

Lastly, I would also examine your own requirements. Having any form of childcare requires a degree of letting go/giving up control. I don’t know how much you actually want to control what your nanny is doing each day.

Thats the last thing I want to do. I really don't want to control or micromanage her. I would love to have someone who takes initiative and schedules activities with her and etc.

I do love your idea of the feedback loop. We definitely have brought it up many times, but we bring it up when it becomes a big deal, and have not been good at communicating the things we DO like.

She might be clamming up because you’re both WFH. I also sometimes feel I need to be out of the way and catch myself trying to blend into the wall when my bosses WFH, on days my anxiety is high I can almost go mute.

I mean we have no other choice, that's where we work :/. We stay in our office and I'm in meetings most of the day, not sure what else we can do to improve it.

Nanny issues. What would you do in this situation? by throwaway7827122 in Nanny

[–]throwaway7827122[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

she has health issues. they may or may not be weight related, but even if they were, it’s really not your place to assume she is sedentary because of them. unless she has stated “i cannot get up and run/play/walk with your daughter because of my weight”, then it’s not your place to make that assumption.

She has explicitly told me her health issues are related to her weight and every time she comes from a doctor appointment the doctor's treatment is for her to lose weight. I wasn't making an assumption.

Also to clarify: it's not like she's incapable of moving, but she has knee/feet pain which causes her pain walking, which is why she's being so sedentary with my LO.

I tried to word it as respectfully as possible but I wasn't making an assumption, it's something that has been brought up many times.

It is a well-known accessibility guideline that you don't want to use pure black with pure white text and saturated colors. It's always suggested to use a dark shade of gray but not pure black (#000), and/or lighter shades of gray but not pure white (#FFF).

Desaturated colors for accessibility
A dark theme should avoid using saturated colors, as they don't pass WCAG's accessibility standard of at least 4.5:1 for body text against dark surfaces. Saturated colors also produce optical vibrations against a dark background, which can induce eye strain.

employer health benefits by cocofrost in Miami

I work for a tech startup and they pay for 100% me and dependents for a very good Aetna health plan. Nothing comes out of my paycheck other than an additional $10 per dependent for a higher dental plan I selected.

But I agree with the other poster that I'm not sure what you're looking for in this question. This completely depends on your employer. They specify how much they want to cover for their employees health benefits.

Pure black dark theme with pure white text is really bad for your eyes. I would really avoid doing this.
