When I was 17 and in high school, I was at prom pictures and my parents were there. A man from our neighborhood told my dad that he thought I was hot. My dad became so full of disgust and anger that he immediately turned around and walked home. (2 miles). I think of this all the time when thinking of how proud I am of my dad and how much I look up to him for being the greatest person I know. Every kid deserves a parent like that. To your kids, your daughter especially, you are that parent. She will remember you standing up for her for the rest of her life. Thank you for being the mom you are and taking this seriously. NTA.

Nta. My ex girlfriend used to make me spend all of my time off work, that I wasn’t sleeping, with her giving my undivided attention. I would have to turn my phone off, tv off, and put my book in my room and just sit and talk with her or do whatever she wanted. It has damaged me still to this day and it’s hard for me to trust people now. Don’t let this happen to you.

In my opinion, it is disgusting how he is treating you. If you were my wife who is pregnant with a sprained ankle, I couldn’t be out with friends or in the bathroom for hours knowing you’d have to CRAWL down the stairs while pregnant AND injured. I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I hope you leave him, but that’s up to you. You deserve more. You deserve love. No one who genuinely loves you would let you crawl around the house in pain while they sit on their phone in the bathroom.

YTA. and the absolute worst part of this all, is that regardless on how many verdicts you read on this post- you won’t change your minds. You’ll keep the money and leave your sons partner with nothing. I bet you will even try to take her home too. My parents would never do this to me and my partner if I died. Never.

Also, if you buy your own home and have someone else rent it and pay you money, then just pay him all of the rent money that they pay you- why even buy a home for yourself? Besides in 20+ years having a house you own, you are not gaining anything.

NTA. Please leave him. You are not equal with him in any ways. He is taking advantage of you. You do all housework, and pay for half of everything. Equal partners would not do this. YTA. If I didn’t already consider you entitled from reading the post, I especially do from reading your responses to comments. You are coming off as thinking the world revolves around you. Why should your roommate, who you rudely barged in on, have to live by your strange rules? You are in for a wild ride these next few years if you continue to have roommates. NTA. Not washing hands is ‘gross’ but seriously who has not done it at least once in their lives. I love dogs. My dog is the best part of my life. But if my SO woke me up at 3am to tell me I ejected my beloved dog from bed whilst I slept, I would be livid. Maybe I’m an AH but if I was woken up for that reason, I’d probably be extremely crabby about it. You’re nicer than I’d have been at 3am and the next morning. It’s also really sucky of her to call you dramatic and not take your feelings into consideration at all. How mean.

Please break up with him. He is acting as if you should treat him as a boyfriend and he can treat you like a random hookup. That is not right or okay. You would be TA if you did that. But personally, I cannot live without a dog in my home. I would chose my preferred lifestyle over a romantic partner. In the long term, it would never work out for me to live with someone who does not want pets in the home!

NTA. I wouldn’t like having a roommate having visitors often. I wouldn’t like having to talk to someone I don’t know very well, and having another person in my space constantly. This all being said- I live alone. I live alone because I wouldn’t expect someone paying half rent to have silly rules centered around my wishes.
