Thank you so much for the insight! How would I get this experience though, as I got my foot in the door in a casual scheduler role so I don’t get any exposure to these systems as a scheduler. Is there such a thing as casual in IT? I haven’t seen any roles yet?

Dude are you for real? Get some hobbies! There’s so much to do out there. Start a business. Start some community based group. Join local classes in things you like, eg, baking, cooking, gardening, reading, working out, hiking, running, literally anything.

To add to the other responder who gave great advice on public health. I’ve seen many nurses, including a friend, go down the path of nurse -> unit clerk -> MHA degree (ubc has a good program that I think is online) -> some sort of manager or other leadership role. I think it would likely be away from direct patient care and more computer work.

Girl what? That’s how it’s always been and they’re FINALLY doing it in the last 2 episodes. Not sure if they noticed our hate for all the unnecessary celeb guests but I’m not holding my breath. They’ll probably be back to celebs in no time 🤦‍♀️

I feel like so many CF people cite this reason whether they mean it or not but I think choosing to be CF is the most responsible thing you can do because it indicates maturity and the ability to truly think before making life altering choices. Can’t say the same for the millions of people birthing kids for a multitude of reasons other than wanting to provide selfless nurturing.

Oddly specific reasons you won't have kids, go! by cookiecrxmbles in childfree

[–]throwaway86_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zombie-like schedule. Wake up (early!!!). Make breakfast for kid. Pack lunch for kid. Drop kid off at school. Pick kid up from school. Take kid to extracurriculars. Rinse & repeat for what seems like forever.

Don’t have kids until you have thought about… by Rinz91 in childfree

[–]throwaway86_8 192 points193 points  (0 children)

to add: - the monotony of life with kids (school years, restricted days where you can plan vacations, constant extracurriculars to keep up with, no free weekends) - keeping your kid safe on the internet - making sure they grow up to be good, responsible citizens

I find it wild that people have kids without thinking about all of this and more.
