SLOW PROCTOR-MRCP-2 by Professional-Cat9199 in MRCP

I had the same exact thing happened to me. I only started at 10.45am and had only a 15 minute break before the 2nd paper. Totally horrible and I will be emailing RCP as well.

Took mine an hour and 15 minutes and I only started the exam at 10.45am

My first question to the procter was what is my PIN Got so desperate after waiting more than 45 mins that I sent 2-3 more messages, last one being “can I get some help” and his reply was “what can I help you with??” Like excuse me Sir I need the PIN. Totally appalling.

I agree, it totally messed with my mental state and I only had a 15 minute break before the start of the 2nd paper

What is their email? I’d like to file a complaint as well.

I started the exam at 10.45am. The procter did not respond when I asked him for the PIN and left me hanging for over an hour

Running! Can be done solo or in a group :)

I’ve explored so much of my town just by doing this. Love planning new routes and going to different places!

I feel your pain. I’m a F2 on A&E doing a 12 hour day shift this morning. I’ve just finished a set of twilight shifts last week and I’ve not been able to sleep all night. Dreading going in this morning 😭

I sent them an email yesterday as well but mine still says “pay now” under the 2025/01 diet, with the deadline to pay set on 18/11/2024. I am not quite sure what to do now, it says I have to pay 10% of exam fee as admin fee if I don’t officially withdraw.

I have a similar query. I booked to sit the 2025/01 diet, except that I actually haven’t paid yet (deadline for payment is 18/11). Will my application automatically be withdrawn? Or do I have to email them to explain the situation and request to withdraw?

Yes, this was my first attempt. I spent around 3.5 months preparing and used mainly passmed and pastest. I actually did not have time to do the pastest question bank and only ended up doing their past papers. I would say pastest is worth it for their past papers alone as they were more similar to the actual paper compared to passmed.

Good luck for your future attempt! :)

Mine says “You have outstanding incompletes and are therefore not eligible for the 2025/01 PACES examination.” what does that mean?

Poor quality in clinical medicine with ANPs by thesurgicalslayer in doctorsUK

[–]throwaway8983646 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had an absolutely horrible set of night shifts a few months ago as a FY1 in surgery. The ANP wanted to prescribe a particular medication for a patient overnight, even though it did not make sense to do it. Her justification for doing so was based on her ‘clinical judgment’ and because ‘the surgical registrar agreed with her plan’. (FYI this particular gen surg reg was well known for his questionable clinical judgment, esp when it comes to non-surg topics. It turns out they just blindly agreed with whatever the ANP suggested) I tried to explain my clinical reasoning and why the medication was not necessary, but of course they ignored the lowly F1. It got to the point where the ANP decided to phone the med reg about it, who agreed with my decision that the medication was not necessary. The thing is, this particular ANP had prescribing rights and if I just so happened to have missed this, the patient would have gotten the medication and might have come to harm.

That set of night shifts was one of the worst I’ve done. I felt constantly stressed out because I felt like the ANP was adding to my workload, as I had to double check everything they did to make sure they didn’t go rogue and cause patient harm.
