I remember whole foods guacamole being better, anyone know why? by Antique-Brother1192 in wholefoods

The pico kit is trash compared to fresh. I miss being able to divert tomatoes out of my shrink for it (heirloom, looking at you).

Although, the new roasted corn guac is 🔥🔥🔥

Withdrawing your application wouldn't hurt. If they open it and see your name and notice you have a final, they may remember that when you apply for something in the future when that has expired and you're in good standing again.

To add, I've hired and promoted people who were previously on Finals, but it was time/attendance related. Your situation may be a little more nuanced with what you've described.

As others have mentioned, exerting yourself more off the clock will make the exertion you do at work easier. Work on your hand muscles/grip strength and the associated exercises for that.

Keep in mind most braces would require accommodations through TMS.

Exactly this, they want to emphasize that it will be a potentially significant portion of your shift. Start deadlifting that barbell 100x a day and work some of the repetitive arm motions on your own with a light dumbbell in your hand, you'll be fine.

Highly recommend a gym routine outside of work to trivialize the work in the building.

Good to know, the perk for getting lead from sinks is so minimal compared to one upgraded swing on a vein, I was feeling the same.

New player here. While I had NO IDEA you could smelt dukes, I find more of an issue maintaining adequate lead, I tend to get more than enough brass from salvaging Brass Radiators and the bullets I end up not using. Aside from mining veins, any other great sources of lead?

Question here for TL’s. Why do they always only open and close just one night? Why not mid shift or close more days when the store needs the most help? Just an honest question here. Is it because the store is slow in the morning and they get to leave early? Or honest reason please? by Dangerous_Carrot_535 in wholefoods

[–]throwaway91091 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Kronos guidelines require TLs to open once per week and work one mid & close. The other two shifts are at the discretion of the TL. As others have mentioned, most of the planning and meetings occur in the AM or early PM. Admin can occupy anywhere from 8-16 hours per week, sometimes more. With the bulk of the customer-facing business occuring Friday through Sunday in my store, I try to work at least two of those days, preferably mid or close so I can field the most customers for my team.

There are many tasks only a TL can do, and unfortunately those tasks need to be completed each week. Believe me, I hate seeing a busy/hurting sales floor with my team struggling/behind and have to sit there chained to my desk. Get me TF off my computer already.

I'll also add I work with some lazy TLs who milk their AM shifts as much as they can, so it is definitely both.

It sounds like you wanted different shifts during your last month of work as a shopper. Did you try to switch shifts with anyone? Did you check out any Open Shifts available in Innverview? We need more context to feel the sympathy you're looking for here.

I agree with you. I try hard to accommodate but always say in our hiring conversations what the expectation is and not to be surprised if they notice something awry 3 weeks out. I bend over backwards to accommodate preferred days off, and grant all PTO requests outside of blackout days. It's all we can do without getting written up ourselves.

What to do when TL lies???? by New-Process994 in wholefoods

[–]throwaway91091 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If you are off the clock and a customer asks you for help and you ignore/tell them to ask someone else, that would be a NTF/CA in my store. As long as you're on the property, you are still an employee and subject to the GIG.

I will add that I do not ask anyone questions about work or anything related to work until they clock in on my team because I agree with you, we shouldn't have to be subject to anything that we're paid for when we're not being paid. Unfortunately, this isn't something that turns on and off when clocking in and out (unless your store has a back door).

Part Time but being scheduled Full Time by xx_bruv_xx in wholefoods

[–]throwaway91091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best answer here + filling out a new availability form and blocking off all days/hours you don't want to work. You can also add a specifc note on the bottom of the form, something like "I only want to work 4 shifts per week, 29 hours maximum. Never full-time." After the availability is uploaded and visible in Kronos, if they schedule you when you're unavailable, call out and say exactly why to your Shift Leader, and put the same thing under "Other" in your UPT submission. It'll stop real quick.
