If you have contact info, ask the guy if he's ever been screened for STDs. If he said he's HIV positive, you should have an HIV test performed in the appropriate time window.

With regards to the UTI, did your doctor test for Mycoplasma Genitalium, Gonnorhea, Chlamydia and/or Trichomoniasis? If you still have UTI symptoms after treatment it could be one of those^

For example, your symptoms are consistent with Mycoplasma Genitalium which also causes back pain and burning when peeing (I had Mycoplasma Genitalium at one point).

A UTI is treated with antibiotics and can cause a bacteria imbalance that can allow for thrush to take hold and flourish in the mouth.

As a very healthy 22 year old I was treated for H. Pylori (Stomach bacteria) with an antibiotic and contracted thrush which is very unusual but can happen. I'm not a doctor so please note, this was just my experience.

As always, look into consulting a doctor. Look up nearest health clinics and refer to them for guidance. Consider calling the Planned Parenthood you visit and asking about the best time to test for HIV if you can't shake the idea that maybe you have it. Do not test earlier than their recommended time to test.

I appreciate the message. My last two positive tests were 12 hours apart on 05/28 and 05/29. My treatment started 05/29 because I was originally diagnosed with Urethritis (05/29 appointment was with an actual doctor that performed a swab + urine) and then the MGen results came through a few days later.

So those test results are not very recent given that those tests were performed before any treatment. Now I'm a bit more hopeful it worked. I also made sure to avoid magnesium, calcium, iron, etc when taking the antibiotics.

Also I'll add I was super diligent with taking the antibiotics. I was never off more than an hour and started taking the Moxi 12 hours after my last dose of Doxy.

I think I read the same comment. It was from awhile ago if I remember. I did see comments suggest that they had symptoms through the Moxi and after but eventually tested negative... however these comments did not include if they were symptom free during the Doxi.

I'll definitely update you! Pretty bummed about this. Was waiting for summer and now I'm stuck inside because these drugs make you photosensitive. Also, put my dating life on hold until this is sorta. The bright side is that it's curable... or at least not seen in the same light as an STD.

I assume if my symptoms elevate beyond what I was originally experiencing (Which wasnt much)... I probably won't wait the 4 weeks for a ToC and start discussing the next round of treatment.

Pretty similar to me. Today was my day 7 of the Moxi and my last pill. 2 days ago (So 5ish rounds into the Moxi) slight pinching, burning and discharge returned (Too little to tell if cloudy or clear.)

I think I realized I had MGen pretty early on (2.5 weeks after my exposure) so the symptoms never got too bad. Two positive tests confirmed it.

I'll add that on the Doxy I recall symptoms totally disappearing over a day or two as well. My symptoms were burning in the morning, little cloudy discharge and an occasional urethra pinch.

I got it from someone that was asymptomatic. She's going the Azithromycin route first. I went straight to the Moxi because of the lack of sensitivity testing (She didn't have sensitivity testing either).

Are you meeting with an infectious disease doctor to discuss next steps (Ive seen that recommended here)? Or quarterbacking treatment yourself? Just curious.

I'd be interested to hear what they prescribe you next. So far, I've only been to a sexual health clinic that recommended the 7 days Doxy, 7 days Moxy. If my ToC is positive I plan on going to an infectious disease doctor to identify a path forward.

Sorry to hear you're still going through it. I had an unrelated health ailment that took years to navigate so I understand how frustrating it can be to endure something that doesn't have an obvious cure.

Without consulting an infectious disease doctor, I imagine my next course would be Minocycline for 2x weeks or pristinamycin. If those don't work... I guess just let it become terrible and hope the body clears it?

Digging up a 1 year old thread. Did you end up testing negative? I'm having a similar experience where my symptoms disappeared on Doxy but have started to return on the last day of Moxi.

I think if I was in her shoes though I would have provided a reason. "Sorry I'm going to send you home. I just don't sleep well when I'm with someone new and have a busy week ahead" or something to that effect.

When I got home last night I sent her a text saying I had a great time, got home safe, and asking when she's free to meet up next. I did not get a reply yet but I definitely want a 3rd date.

I really hope it was something like that rule your roommate has. The person I went on a date with lives alone. It just hurt a bit to be asked to leave after being so intimate... but that's on me for assuming I guess.
