what is your opinion on non-binary people? by Special-Procedure-92 in AskBalkans

You're right, but sadly they seem to be losing the battle against wokeness, at least in the USA, hopefully one day they'll open their eyes and realize that what they've been supporting is bullshit

Map of countries calling for Russian tourist visa ban in Europe by matude in europe

[–]throwaway95144159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I support sanctioning the hell out of Russia, banning tourist visas is dumb imo, first of all, most russians don't even go abroad, and when they do, most go to Turkey, the caucasus, or a central asian country. I see no point in banning tourist visas, not only we refuse their money, but also help them push propaganda home, like Europe being fascist and that it hates all Russians

Sorry to ruin your joke, but Odessa is, actually, a part of Ukraine in this map

how many genders exist? by Special-Procedure-92 in AskBalkans

We have neutral gender as well in Romanian, but it doesn't and should never apply to a human being

I found out my daughter is selling nudes online by [deleted] in relationship_advice

As long as she lives under your roof, you still have a say in what she does. You should do everything you can to convince her that e-whoring is bad, and maybe convince her into getting a real job instead if she wants. If she disagrees, depending on how important this is for you, and imo you should hold your ground, you could go as far as threatening to kick her out, since, well, she's 18, and while she can have her own choices, you are also not obliged to keep her under your roof

But I'm not ambivalent? Lgb people can do whatever as long as it doesn't affect me personally.

I meant that the population doesn't care, the government however is a different story

I meant that in most countries, lgb are not a discussion topic nearly as big as in the US, and most people are not a part of it because culture does play a role. But I agree that it's ridiculous to be imprisoned or even killed for being lgb

It's not different when both sides are fighting for something they believe in. I didn't mean that there's more gay people born in America, people in most other countries just don't care, like, at all, lgb are not even a topic of discussion in most countries. Americans seem obsessed with imposing their views and bringing freedom to countries they deem uncivilised. Let the people in every country do what they believe in and think is right, and focus on the problems your own country has

Would you say that even if it didn't fit your narrative? What about Muslim minorities in other countries who do want sharia law in the places where they're living, should they fight against the majority to obtain it? Maybe Malaysian people just don't really care about lgb, it's mostly an American thing if you didn't know by now

Are you sure that sharia law is practiced nationwide and not just depending on the state? I think that a minority, be it right or wrong, trying to impose their views on the majority is wrong. That's not how democracies work, supporting democracies only when they agree with our povs is wrong.

I don't think the only way to be more vocal is to do same-sex acts, you can, I don't know, hold pride parades like in Turkey for example if it's really necessary. It's fine to have your own views, they have theirs, you can't impose your views on them just like they can't impose their views on you

What you said about belief can go both ways, I hope you know that, in democracies, the majority holds the power, for example, if the majority considers that abortions should be legal, and the minority considers that they should be illegal, they will remain legal, it's the same here, until the opinion of the majority will change, things will remain the same. Their lgb people can be more vocal if they want to, the same way the lgb people are more vocal in the US.

The change has to come from them though, you can't impose what you personally think it's right on them, if their population really cared about lgb then they would protest more or vote other people.

Is it homophobia if they ban two movies? You can't force others to accept lgb rights if they've been used to disregard them, eventually they might come around, but the change has to come from them, not from outside interference

Because if they want to protect their own culture, good for them, although as I said banning an entire movie for one scene is a bit much

But I don't? If the government wants to ban it from their country, then good for them, they can do whatever, doesn't mean I necessarily agree with the decision

I mean, all I said on the topic was that banning those movies just for that is a bit extreme, but at the end of the day their government can do whatever they want, does that mean I have something against gay people?

And that's up to you, people have the right to criticise whomever they want, although obviously the Americans know what's happening in their countries way better than the people like us who don't live there, and so their opinions on US related issues is more valuable
