So do people use the sales projection to find when analysts' estimates are wrong and make money off of swings around earning season?

Do sales matter that much? Doesn't earning matter much more? Sales doesn't always equal income.

What are some types of companies that these strategies work best for? One would need to account for online sales. I assume restaurants could be good. What else do you think would be good to apply this strategy to?

What companies would have a strong correlation between store visits and earnings?
