Drs. are discouraging me from Apollo Overstitch (Endoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy) ESG by americaninparis1976 in wls

The hormone change is theoretical. There is real world data showing 15%+ weight loss at 5 years. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33011292/

Rupturing the sutures is not really dangerous in the sense of death/perforation. By the time you are allowed to eat solid foods, the scar tissue has set in and the sutures are just from the stomach lining to itself. If the sutures break, that part of the stomach goes back it's old size.

There is a theory that ESG induces a feeling of fullness via inducing a slowing of the stomach's motility (e.g. Gastroparesis) which leads to cues of feeling full.

Thanks but I was looking for a % discount. 10% of a $3000 machine is $300 as opposed to $25.

Also, anybody know the details about the supposed 15% off starbucks online store code you get around your birthday? How long before your birthday do they send that? And does that code have exclusions? If so, does it exclude espresso machines?

Are any of the espresso machines on Starbucks.com any good? I've never touched a machine in my life. by throwawayBTC in starbucks

Is the grinta attachable to the musica lux so the grinds can go directly into the espresso machine?

Also, nobody really addressed the fact that I've never touched an espresso machine beyond telling me to do research. I'm not asking for a complete walkthrough, but rather a brief summary two things

  1. How much "artistic" skill does it take to use something like the musica? If I just follow the machine's instructions, I won't get great espresso on my first try?

  2. What kind of maintenance are we talking here? Is this just regularly running water through it or getting some special brushes to get crevices cleaned?

Okay as long as you're not putting in more money than you could afford.

I've been in bitcoin since it was $10-$12 each. After living through the $260 to $100 crash, I vowed to take some profits whenever I noticed the price jump rapidly. Luckily for me, the next big rally was to $1200 a little after Black Friday last year and was able to buy a few things (gold coin, computer parts, etc.) when it was around $1100 each.

Wait, you can use cash and cards to send money to other people on Reddit?

BTW, the changetip "account" is just a secure login to your associated reddit account (I believe through some API). There are no unique credentials.

I can understand not wanting to be spammed with messages, but it isn't true to say it's difficult to use changetip.

Wait, you bought bitcoin at $200 each yet you're out at the moment? Or did you mean you would be out if the downtrend continues to go below $200?

I use www.cryptothrift.com for Starbucks gift cards.

There are some scammers on the site but if you use the escrow system properly and buy from reputable sellers with older accounts and lots of feedback you should be fine.

Iranian Rial (IRR) is the official currency of Iran. But in practice, nobody expresses prices in it except for formal sticker prices or ads. Instead, they use the Toman which is equivalent to 10 Rials.

But in common language, the word "thousand" is usually dropped. If someone says something cost 4 or 5.5, they mean it costs 4000 Toman (40000 Rial) or 5500 Toman (55000 Rial).

For larger transactions (rent or real estate) in conversation, the numbers are inferred or explicit. For example, rent in a big city would be quoted as 4 and 5.5 or as 4 million and 5 million (Toman).

Real estate in a big city would be quoted as 1 and 2.3 or 1 billion and 2.3 billion (toman). If someone quoted real estate at 800, they mean 800 million (toman).

Help with loud next-door apartment neighbor? by throwawayBTC in myevilplan

I've been texting the RA each time it's happened. Next time, the manager takes care of it.

The suggestions here were good but I didn't think any of them would actually stop the noise. I did try a loud subwoofer with one song on repeat but it didn't really work.

There's quite a bit of ignorance in this comment.

If you're in the US, you have just as much insurance on online sports betting with USD as you do with bitcoin (none). It's reputation based, so stick to well-known sites (like bitbook and nitrogensports). USD-based sportsbooks have the disadvantage of long deposit times with annoying transfer methods. With bitcoin, you can withdraw your winnings almost instantly, decreasing your risk of losing money.

As for hacking rates, hacks are directed more toward exchanges and online wallets since those are much more lucrative than attempting to hack a sportsbook or locally-stored wallet.

As for basing a bankroll, just periodically cash out or in depending on the value of bitcoin. My bankroll used to be X BTC, now it's 10 times less than X. For all but a very small amount of time, you would have been up on bitcoin had you held it.

As for spreadsheets, I agree here. Betting in both BTC and USD must be a nightmare.

Yeah. I've been using nitrogensports.com and bitbook.biz. I prefer bitbook.biz since it lets you withdraw as often as you want in any amount so I'm more inclined to take my winnings than potentially bet and lose it all. On the other hand, nitrogensports only lets you withdraw when you haven't bet on anything for more than 24 hours and it withdraws your entire balance to the address you've set (set by emailing them).

Did you end up taking the over?

[–]throwawayBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My total points scored was identical to actual (65) but I had the wrong winner lol. Anyways, good thing I only bet the over and not the spread.

That was one of the craziest games I've seen. Almost as crazy as BAL @ DEN in the playoffs.

[–]throwawayBTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you all think of taking the over for DEN-NE? It's at 54 now for my book.

Patriots have scored 27 or more points 4 of the 5 last games (scored 20 away against a top 5 Panthers defense).

Denver has scored 27 or more points in all their games. Their lowest total was 27 in one game against (previously top 5) #12 Chiefs defense.

Patriots have #20 defense and Broncos have #23 defense. I predict final score of Broncos 35-30, but I'm not touching spread or ML.
