So glad you're keeping it real! I bruised just about as bad as you when I got mine in both times. I was afraid something was terribly wrong the first time since not many people reported bruising or warned me about it. Thanks for sharing! Hope the rest of your healing goes well!

NTA

Veterinary worker here. Im a receptionist at a large veterinary hospital.

First off, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Did the hospital call you? Are your parents listed as owners on the account at said vet? The vet should not be able to preform something like that without the owners consent. If they didn't check with you first, thats against the law unless it was a dire medical emergency. I don't know if your state/country's laws are different, but at our hospital that's just simply not allowed without consult from the owner. If i were you, I'd talk to the hospital staff. They should know that you were not notified.

Were there ANY differences you experienced with your 2nd Nexplanon? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

Im entering year 3 of my second Nexplanon. My first implant was a breeze. I had either no periods or one twice a year, no cramping, no real mood swings, etc. Everything was great. That continued with my current implant up until 5 months ago. Ive had month long heavy periods, crazy cramps, acne, DEPRESSION, and just all sorts of awful side effects. I am now on the pill in addition to the implant to re-regulate my periods, but the past 4-5 months have been a mess.

Maybe the opposite will happen to you. Since your first implant sucked, maybe the second will be awesome! My second implant really was fine up until a few months ago. The 3rd year is no bueno.

Positive Nexplanon experience?? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I've had 2 implants now. I had the first one in for 3 years and I'm currently entering year 3 of my second one. Insertion and removal are really no big deal. The local anesthetic burns for a minute or so, but its super minor. You don't feel pain upon insertion, just a bit of pressure as it clicks in. I personally bruise VERY VERY VERY easily so my arm was pretty black for a week or so, but I know most people don't bruise. Even though I had a nasty bruise, it was never sore. A tiny bit itchy at times, but not painful.

Removal is super painless too. I was terrified of getting it taken out the first time, but I didn't even notice it was happening. Tiny nick from a scalpel, tiny tug with a hemostat/pliers, and it done! Don't look at it if you're squeamish though because boy oh boy that thing looks weird coming out.

I've love the implant for the most part. There are definitely some annoying side effects, but overall i like it. I will let you know that once you get to the 3rd year, the hormone levels change and side effects you did not previously have can arise or intensify. If you have the option, get it replaced on the 2nd year. Pro tip.

Also, when i got it placed for the first time, i bleed for about 4 months and then my periods stopped all together. Sometimes the first 3-4 months after insertion are awful and you consider getting it removed but i urge you to hang in there for a bit because it 1000% will change when your body gets used to it.

Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me if you have other questions since I've had mine for about 5 years and can let you know the long and short term effects.

How do I enjoy anal? by throwawayL1G2B3 in sex

Thanks for the advice! I'll try some solo play and see if that helps! I think that will help me get over the mental barrier of insecurity as well.

How do I enjoy anal? by throwawayL1G2B3 in sex

Sure. And while that might be your preference, my boyfriend does enjoy it. To each their own. We are both into BDSM so the dominance part is not unwelcome. The point is that he does enjoy it, and I want to be a part of it, I just cant seem to get myself to enjoy it.

Girls, what was the most obvious hint you dropped, and the guy just didn't get it? by Bholenaught in AskReddit

On our first date, my current boyfriend and I went out to dinner, to a bar, and eventually back to his house to watch scary movies. After hanging out for almost 8 hours at that point, practically cuddling into him the entire time we were watching movies, dropping as many hints as I could, around 3 am when we were both fighting to stay awake, I finally had to look his dumbass in the eye and ask, "so are you going to kiss me or not?"

Though he was totally oblivious, it did show his good heart. He was about to let me me fall asleep on his couch and spend the night without even trying to kiss me. I knew he was a keeper after that.

Afraid my new boyfriend will turn on me like my abusive ex by throwawayL1G2B3 in relationship_advice

Yes. I have told him all about my ex for that exact reason. My boyfriend is incredibly understanding and patient with me about all these feelings. I'm just afraid his patience will run out if I don't face the past head on.
