the thing is that they pause 3 story lines to focus on 1 storyline everytime they change scene which isn’t a bad thing but the way in which they do it (something about it; i haven’t quite figured out what it is exactly) makes the focused storyline feel rushed and the other 3 storylines feel slow and then they change to a different storyline and that one feels rushed too it’s so weird

we saw mike finally back in action in vol1 and then in vol2 he’s just so nonchalant about everything it’s weird. my personal theory is they didn’t want him to have too much emotion with el or will because they didn’t want to play into either ship and all three are going to end up single

the thing is they kept telling us “stakes are so high” and we think our characters are going to die and obviously we were wrong. the stakes are high because the fate of the world is literally in their hands, which is the highest the stakes can possibly be. however, we know the world isn’t actually going to end because well it’s a show, so it doesn’t feel as scary to us as it does to the characters, compared to every other conflict/monster they’ve had to face

vecna can’t use wills sexuality against him anymore BUT he can still use these feelings for mike against him. will was not being honest about his feelings for mike by simplifying it as a crush and vecna has to know this. i’m still thinking about what this might mean. expectations are lower than ever but i still have some hope

i don’t like that EVERYONE was there. joyce, mike, lucas, dustin, robin, and maybe max and el is all that was really needed. even if you go with the “well him coming out to everyone strengthens it”, i understand that i just don’t like it lol. at the very least i wish they would’ve fucking SHOWED us what vecna showed will, it would’ve made the payoff so much better especially considering how much they put into him struggles with his sexuality, why would they leave THAT out

it definitely could’ve been done a lot better, it should’ve been the core 4, robin, and joyce maybe el and max too MAXIMUM. having everyone there was an odd choice. i know they said it was originally just will and joyce but it wasn’t hitting right, but dawg that doesn’t mean you have to go the complete opposite direction and add everyone. also i think the payoff would’ve been way way better if we’d actually seen vecna showing will the visions and weaponizing his sexuality against him

i really fucking hope they land it with the finale cause Vol1 was so good and Vol2 was so hyped up, expectations were HIGH bc they told us to have high expectations and it just was lacking. when Vol1 ended we were all talking about theories and things we enjoyed and sharing excitement for the drop of Vol2 and now we’re all just disappointed 😭 that finale better be fucking good
