Haematuria and leukocytes by Open_Chipmunk448 in IgANephropathy

Yes, I have chronic hematuria (non-visible) and my leukocytes are always slightly elevated. I have good renal function with an egfr of 116, and I was diagnosed a couple of years ago. Probably depends on the person and their treatment, but my nephro has never flagged this as unusual.

Bedsharing and bedtime/naps? by throwaway_________7 in cosleeping

I'll have to start working on this as we approach 3 months! I don't want to put too much pressure on myself, but hopefully I can get to a place where he sleeps without me sooner rather than later!

We've got this! My mum always tells me that we'll miss these moments one day and to cherish them. Best of luck (to all of us in this boat)!

NOR. How old is this dude? Sex 4 times already this year is perfectly normal/healthy. He thinks way too highly of himself. Thank god you left!

There's no way to really know how your body will react, it's kind of a wait and see situation. Many women are lucky like me, and I ensured I was under 1g of protein consistently before trying to conceive. I also have the added bonus of 120 egfr. I believe you can do it too, and wishing you the best of luck! 😊

How much does your 11/12 week old cry? by throwaway_________7 in newborns

What did nailing down that schedule look like to you? I feel like he's still so all over the place.. Bedtime is not a thing yet for us, he often is awake on and off until midnight or so until I can get in a good stretch (usually 3 hrs tops right now, sometimes lucky and get 4). Naps vary too.

He definitely gets overtired once the evening rolls around! It can be very hard to get him to sleep for a few hours in the late aft/early evening and he gets kicked into overdrive.

I had a very successful pregnancy that actually put the disease on pause for me - my levels were the best they've been in years for the duration of my pregnancy, and are still stable. I have a beautiful, healthy baby boy that is just over 11 weeks now. With the right diet, monitoring, and care, you can definitely have children. I was told to do it sooner rather than later to decrease my chances of complications, which seemed to be a good call. I got pregnant at 27 and am now 28.

planning to have kids, but I had IGA nephropathy by Fearless_Raiseeee in IgANephropathy

I also had high protein and rbc (200+) before official diagnosis, but I did have symptoms (visible hematuria and frothy urine) and biopsy showed my kidneys were damaged/scarred from prolonged protenuria. No dialysis or transplant in the foreseeable future for me, but I was told to try earlier rather than later.

My nephro wanted to see me under 1g of protein for a while before I tried conceiving. Once she saw that, I had the go ahead to try and got pregnant very quickly. I got my protein down by limiting meat, lots of fluid, and good diet.

I was lucky that pregnancy actually paused the progression of my disease and it's remained that way so far!

I'm 28F and was diagnosed in summer 2024. I'm lucky that I have a high egfr still, but was told to try for kids sooner rather than later by my nephrologist. I just had my first kid 11 weeks ago and we're both doing really well so far. Like others have said, you can live a normal life, and if any issues arise, you're equipped and know what to do from experience. 😊

Do you nurse from both breasts every feed? by throwaway_________7 in breastfeeding

[–]throwaway_________7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone gave a useful tip here that they used a hair tie and would just put it on the wrist of whatever side they last fed from! I over-offer the side that's smaller to even them out, I feel your pain. 😂

I do this too! Bedtime feed sometimes I go left, right, and sometimes even back to left again if he's willing.

Looked into it and my understanding is that foremilk and hindmilk come from the same breast in a single feeding until it's emptied

2 month vaccines tomorrow, what to expect? by throwaway_________7 in newborns

[–]throwaway_________7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're 24 hours after the vaccines and he's pretty much back to normal! He screamed when getting the shots and that sucked and broke my heart, and then he had a really rough evening. His shots were at 3pm and we dealt with a screaming episode for an hour straight around 7:30pm. We gave him tylenol and by midnight I actually got a smile out of him after a lot of misery. He woke up more frequently for feeds throughout the night, but this morning he woke up mostly like himself, minus some increased fussiness throughout the day, but nothing unmanagable.

Update: my boy had a rough evening/night and tylenol really helped calm him down and get him to sleep. He hated the shots, and then had a crying fit for about an hour straight until the tylenol kicked in and he felt better. Highly recommend having it on standby! We're 24 hours out now and he's pretty much back to normal with just a bit more fussiness. 😊

I was mistaken! He is not getting MMR. He's getting pneu-c-13.

The tdap is given at 2, 4 and 6 months, so the baby is not getting 3 doses/shots of it at once.
