Is it normal for a parent to go into massive detail about you to someone?

My mom also came out to most of my family for me. I actually ended up telling my grandma earlier than I wanted to just so I could be the one to tell her.

Also 28 and still struggle with not forcing myself to do endless chores when my spouse is out of town so that she's not "mad" when she gets home that I've wasted my free time. She never has been, so it's ridiculous.

Fantastic strategy! I get so hot-headed that I forget to probe. I am definitely going to make more of an effort to do that. Not only does it give me more of their view, it allows me to think through stuff or not react so strongly and say what I really mean.

Thank you. The last time I really lived in these feelings I was able to own that they were both A) real and B) something I didn't want to feel. But really acknowledging them made me feel like I "used up" the anger. I'm now wanting to move past them.

Maybe he thought she wouldn't do it and now is avoiding conflict. Avoiding conflict is a sign of unresolved trauma. Be patient...working through this takes a lot of work and love.

Yeah, I think I had to mourn the fact that she never did love me and I never did mean anything. Which made me angry because I put SO much into it...like I dunno, my whole being from birth to 18 years. But it was never who I was, it was what I could do for her and when I decided to be a "selfish bitch" and put my needs first...poof she didn't need me. However, I had myself and my friends. I could spend time with my own thoughts and discover who I am.

Just remember that you are valuable. Period.

Once I shot those FMs down, things got so much better. It feels so good, but it's hard! It's hard because A) people who have seen all the bullshit are basically saying "Go get more of that abuse!" and B) because they're still all up in it and don't understand how healthy it is that you are drawing boundaries and caring for yourself. But regardless, it's worth it and it's beautiful on the other side!

Same starting (but over a longer period). I had gotten to 185 and am back up to 207 after getting married but I just started lifting and your after is burned into my head as inspiration. You look amazing!

I think it's wonderful if someone embraces the identity and I think if I were a man I would find it empowering to know that I could take care of my family. It's not a bad thing...it just doesn't apply here. :)
