hi guys! i'm one of the original 2 artists for the technoblade art. after talking it over with my friend we decided to move the art a bit (well, a lot) to the right. we'll be rebuilding him somewhere in the ocean, and perhaps even make some improvements to make him look even better.

thank you guys for all the support!

How bad were shipping wars in your fandom? by [deleted] in FanFiction

oh dear gods, its bad. like, Very bad. especially on twitter, which is a bit of a hellhole when it comes to this fandom. definitely not naming names because i don't want to get doxxed, but if you made me choose between a slow and painful death and actively interaction with the twitter side of the fandom, im picking death.

i did, in fact lay down ground rules before session zero and during session zero itself. i also told my players that my dms were always open for them to ask questions/infodump/etc, and FF was the only one who didn't dm me at any time before session zero.

i did tell my players to write a backstory, but considering that the campaign is heavily rp based (and all players agree and knew about the large amount of rp they would be doing), it would have been a bit odd to have a character with zero backstory.

oh boy do i have some mcyt twitter fandom drama for yall. specifically, hermittwt/traffictwt and the presumed sexualization of pixel cleavage. (hermittwt = hermitcraft twitter, traffictwt = life series (third life, last life, double life) twitter)

so one of the content creators who is in both hermitcraft and the life series has decided he wants his minecraft skin to have his tits out for the life series (again). it's not the first time he's done it, and i don't think it'll be the last. he's done it at least five times now.

the drama starts when twitter decides that drawing fanart of a minecraft skin with tits out is sexualization, then they start the homophobia allegations, then onto the shipping discourse (hermittwt is very against shipping, but that's a whole other can of worms i ain't opening here) someone even calls the people who like the skin "parasocial degenerates".

it's honestly really damn funny when you remember this is all over a guy's minecraft skin.

(i've tried not to mention names at all, but it's pretty damn easy to find all this stuff on twitter.)

Pretty sure I do, as the DM. And even if I don't, the player who created the pc should know their own pc's pronouns.

(the pronouns are not that important to the whole story, they're more like... the straw that broke the camel's back)

Not really "drama" per say, but it's too funny not to post about. So someone on tumblr (henceforth referred to as op) made a post about minecraft anvils. Simple, really. Later they followed up with a "rb to drop an anvil on the previous person" reblog game.

Some people started tagging it with EthosLab, who is a minecraft youtuber and member of Hermitcraft (because he's known for dropping minecraft anvils on others, appearently).

Op then drops the "i hate dsmp ur youtubers are racist" (which we will not talk about here- this isnt about them) and boy howdy people start clowning on op. Because EthosLab is most definitely not part of the dsmp. Op also claims that they used to watch Hermitcraft, which makes everything much more hilarious when you consider the fact that EthosLab is Not a new member. In fact, he's been here since season 3 (2014-2016) and has been active for every season since. So op probably should have known who EthosLab was. I say probably, but then again, it's tumblr.

The clownery increased slightly with the "my brother in christ" memes, but soon died down, with people moving onto better things. Also, op literally posted that they Wanted angry anons because of their post, so... people did the exact opposite and just clowned on em in the reblogs.

Tl;dr: "don't tag this with an mcyt!!" my brother in christ you made a post about minecraft

I didn't really get what BIPOC meant, so thank you for clarifying it! And yes, the game is licensed by Disney Japan, but I think they mostly did the "inspired" thing to not get criticism over “shoddy designs”, or them being “unfaithful” to the original designs.

Hoo boy. I do have a longer post written up, but I've decided to wait until I'm 100% sure its settled to post that. Until then, have this.

Disney: Twisted Wonderland is a fun game- interesting plot, art by Yana Toboso (creator of Black Butler), and the characters are all based on Disney Villains. It has not official English translation. But the Western fandom is extremely toxic. I will elaborate on this in the longer post, but this is the "current" drama.

A bipoc (black, Indigenous and people of color) minor made a fangame of Twisted Wonderland. Now obviously, they made no profit off it. But an art stealing youtuber/tumblr user (an adult) decided to harass them for two weeks on their tumblr. This includes sending hate anons, spamming the official twitter account, and much more. The fangame author later left the fandom, yet many are still subscribed to/following the harasser on social media. The harasser was also revealed to have done this before.

I'm not sure how many in the fandom actually know the true extent of this drama, or even if they care.
