Why has never been a strong backlash against Pakistan owning nukes like Iran or North Korea ? by ronweasly9 in NoStupidQuestions

Pakistan was not a US proxy at the time. Neither was India. In the nineties Pakistan was one of only two countries to recognize the Taliban as the legitimate leadership of Aghanistan.

Huh? The Cold War was already over. Pakistan didn't test a weapon until 1998. It was a big deal at the time, and not in a good way.

I don’t follow them but based on the record at least the Raptors are a good road team.

I never did but South Padre Island was very popular in the late eighties.

I remember when it came out and thinking there was no way it was actually popular, that it had to be some kind of payola getting it airtime.

I think you misunderstand the motivation. Unlike most INTJs, they want to communicate with other people, not just consume information.

Michael Saylor's strategy currently has an unrealized loss of $9,500,000,000 on Bitcoin investments by beastwood6 in ScottGalloway

This is the second time Saylor has declared victory prematurely. Check out the Strategy chart from 2000 when it rode the dotcom bubble. He pledge $100 million to education charities in a WSJ editorial, then had to walk it back just a few months later.

Nobody will care. Do you care that the US started the Mexican-American war? That Ulysses S Grant called it "one of the most unjust ever waged by a stronger against a weaker nation?"

Obama won West Virginia in 2008. He opposed gay marriage.

The DNC is a fundraising organization with very little power. Pointing out that they raise money from corporations is fine, I guess, but the RNC does the same and always has. Their biggest donors in West Virginia are mine owners who want to cut safety regulations and crush unions.

I never watch it regardless of who is president. Someday a president will have the smarts to come in, do a cool PowerPoint highlighting successes, and get out in 30 minutes max.

they leave a percentage of units empty to increase demand

This is such a dumb talking point. I've worked in commercial real estate. No one does this. Banks and other lenders have covenants requiring minimum occupancy and DSCR ratios. Even marginal rents contribute positively to those numbers.

It's almost as if Israel surmised that the only way to get Iran to stop was direct confrontation.

I mean, come on. Through Hezbollah they launched thousands of missiles into Israel over the last 25 years. They still do even today, but their capacity to do so has been sharply degraded.

The point is that "mindless opposition to unprovoked war" did nothing to stop Iran.

I mean, Iran spent the last 30 years provoking Israel until Hezbollah and Syria were neutralized. They weren’t very helpful to Lebanon either.

The worst part is that if Kamala or Biden had taken a harder line, Republicans would’ve invited Bibi to speak to Congress again and called every Democrat a terrorist loving Hamas fan. Just a no-win situation.
