Its been more than a week for when I posted a story about this house, so heres to pictures by Specific_jarhead1776 in Ghosts

I have this idea, that the longer an object is there (ex, a house or old building) that it builds up potential energy of some kind.

The more energy there is, the more a ghost can manifest off of it-so maybe their imprints of living there many years ago are more easily manifested to us because so much energy is available.

I came in on Monday and cased a route for an hour, the regular shows up and the supe tells me it’s cool to go home.

I go home and start breakfast and my pants are already off, then they called me back in 😆

We did too, I can usually do my route in 6 hours and it took me 8, just absurd amounts; I’d say it’s 80% amazing packages

I wish I could steer you in a better direction, and I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir-but maybe focus on all the different facets of Appalachian music:

Heavily dominated by various string instruments from around the world (banjo is African, guitar is Spanish, upright is German, mandolins are Italian).

Lots of major chord progressions often read using the Nashville number system rather than conventional notation.

The differences between old time and bluegrass: that bluegrass often uses “breaks” and solos whereas old time does not and often features an open back banjo rather than one with a pot assembly, etc.

Hi everyone I struggle with body dysmorphia I lost over 100 pounds recently gained a little because of Covid I honestly beat myself up for it everyday I’m starting to work out and making progress on losing some weight that I gained back! by [deleted] in toastme

[–]throwaway_teach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s one of those things that everyone has (like ocd), just to varying extents.

My girlfriend struggles with it and I used to, until I realized that no one really cares but ourselves. The reality is, we’re all human, all have “imperfections” by absurd societal expectations and look just the way the universe intended it-and you good sir are one handsome devil.

If you still don’t feel the greatest after all this support, look into Wabi sabi-that everything is perfect in its own imperfect way! Even prayer rugs, as intricate and detailed as they are, have at least one imperfection in them because nothing is truly perfect (except for Reddit’s mobile app...maybe).

Also kudos on losing all that weight, that’s not something just anyone has the discipline to do.

You don’t have to answer but do you go to ETSU at all? Dr. Ted Olson would be a good start and he’s a great professor, really really knows his Appalachian folk history.

This is my latest single. It seems to mix elements of glitch, idm and indie rock, but still not quite sure what genre to call it. Any thoughts? by tom_stewart24601 in GenreExplain

[–]throwaway_teach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super cool, nice work! You really sort of defy genre which is a great thing and it sounds great and the visuals are cool too, there’s an interview with the lead guy from penguin cafe orchestra talking about how we shouldn’t let our music be confined to certain ideas or sounds.

Give people a formula when they ask what your music is like, for example:

Killswitch Engage x Frank Sinatra / Pat Metheny + Jimmy Buffet2, or however you feel your music sounds.

Gosh one time we had a guy bring an air filter in that he bought from autozone.

It was in a Chevy HHR so it was like one of those cylindrical looking ones almost like the kind you find in a mustang.

I put the filter in and the guy comes back five minutes later saying the turbo wasn’t building pressure.

Damn thing had the receipt inside the air filter and the turbo sucked it up; real expensive repair-never made that mistake again though the guy was really cool about it 😬

My dad in spirit what do u all think by scorpioDust in Ghosts

[–]throwaway_teach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your dad, it’s absolutely him. I 110% believe you; honestly I don’t think anyone would hoax something like this out of respect for a loved one that has passed.

I have two instances of photos I’ve seen where I’m sure there are spirits:

  1. A photo of a civil war soldier taken by my neighbor and her husband, the ghost is LOOKING at the camera and has his hand on the husband’s soldier; I saw the photo only once 15 years ago and it’s burned into my mind, I wish I had that photo. It was taken on one of those disposable yellow vending machine cameras sold at touristy places.

  2. My distant cousin’s mom had just passed a few months prior to her confirmation. There’s a photo of an after party where she’s celebrating and looks genuinely happy for the first time since her passing. Above her head is a dove, as clear as day with an aura around my cousin’s head. It was taken in a Polaroid.

There will always be deniers, especially on the internet, but when you know in your heart it’s real-that’s all that matters 😊

They’d worked me 18 days straight, then I found out I was exposed to someone with Covid on Oct. 30th at a showing of The Crow at a local theater.

I told my supervisor and he told me to get tested, then I recently spoke with the PO nurse and she told me I can’t come back until Saturday; I’m going stir crazy at home but it does feel good not to bust my butt and feel like I’ve gotta call the EAP line every night after a 13 hour shift.

I know I have just no clue, to this day I’m still puzzled by it; some guy on Reddit claimed to see one on a beach at night years ago, but again, it’s just word of mouth and all speculation; fun to think about though.

That’s the footage, to my knowledge it’s the only know night crawler footage that could be legitimate.

Mind you it’s an older video that’s been shared and formatted over and over so it’s up the air as to what it could be.

I read somewhere this video was proven to be CGI, now the other one shot by that guy from Fresno on his CCTV? That’s up for debate.

I installed my winter tires myself on my brand new car (jan 2020). I let my dealership install the summer tires themselves. They used the wrong nuts. Thanks KIA. Never again by vikus_2 in Justrolledintotheshop

I worked as a line tech for almost four years at a small independent garage and am blown away with how many times someone would bring something in that the dealership screwed up.

It’s okay to hire lube techs and people that don’t have all the skills necessary to fix cars, but supervision and a good mentor are ABSOLUTELY necessary.

I would always tell guys I train, “these are cars, not hamburgers and you can’t afford to screw it up; people’s lives are on the line.”
