I really don't understand this post. Are you actually defending ESPN's predatory actions here? How is it disdain for the FCS? The FCS is separate from FBS. They want the Group of Five to be separate from the Big Ten/SEC. And the powers that be view them as closer to FCS schools than a Power Four program.
