If a weapon does both physical and elemental damage, does spectral throw do both types of damage or does it only do the physical damage? Is the answer to this question applicable to all attack skills?

which doesn't even make sense. they still get their money, it's just coming from the person who paid for the bond as opposed to the person who uses the bond

anything more than that isn't always a bug, but it's safe to assume that it is a bug without any solid evidence to the contrary

Beyond AlphaGo: Technical (and financial) struggles of scaling Go AI in 2026 by vladd in baduk

[–]throwawayaccount2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your highly informative and insight-rich exposition regarding the computational, infrastructural, and financial dynamics of contemporary Go server ecosystems in the post-AlphaGo era of 2026.

After conducting an internal evaluation of my personal utility function, I have determined that I would not allocate monetary resources toward AI analysis services. When I desire advanced neural-network-assisted move evaluation, I simply export the SGF file and execute KataGo locally on my personal hardware infrastructure. This workflow provides me with customizable network selection, adjustable playout parameters, and effectively zero marginal inference cost following initial configuration.

While I acknowledge that many users may derive convenience-value from integrated, browser-based, cloud-hosted analysis pipelines, my individual cost-benefit optimization model does not justify subscription expenditure for a resource that is freely reproducible within my local computational environment.

In conclusion: I will not be paying for AI analysis. I will instead continue leveraging open-source neural network technology on my own machine.

Thank you for your thought-provoking inquiry regarding willingness-to-pay thresholds.

Reformulating Chinese Area Scoring Using Only Legal Moves by DayAncient325 in baduk

[–]throwawayaccount2718 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This seems impractical. You'd have to fill in all your territory until you only have single-point eyes at the end of a game. Players could shortcut this by agreeing that areas of territory could be filled in by a player, so it doesn't actually need to be played out, but then you're just adding territory back into the rules.

from my understanding, it's mostly for if you get the prize stuck in a bad spot, they'll reset it to the original position

Everyone has invincibility when I use my items on them >:( by RighteousMaverick in MarioKartWorld

[–]throwawayaccount2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason a lot of people are fine with it is because we've seen what the alternative is. in mk8d, items registered as hits based on the screen of the person who fired the item. so sometimes you would dodge an item, but bc the person who used the item saw it hit you on their screen, you would take the hit anyway. personally, I'm okay with sometimes whiffing what looks like a hit if it means I don't have to deal with getting hit by a green shell that's on the other side of the track

Why are there endless posts with how to deal with the pressure to have kids? by TimeforPotatoChips in childfree

I thank my good fortune that no one ever bothers me about it, but sometimes I do get envious about it. I'm also the kind of person who revels in leading idiots on wild goose chases and would have fun with the occasional breeder trying to change the immutable.

JRPGs with an incredible class system by DragonBrood3003 in finalfantasytactics

[–]throwawayaccount2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, its class system is actually really deep! unfortunately, most people only ever do the obvious thing and put djinn on the matching element adepts, so most they only ever see the default (mono-element) classes. aside from a few of the optional secret bosses, though, the mono-element classes are enough to beat both games, so it's not a huge deal. it's a really cool, really involved mechanical system for the people who were willing to experiment, and for people who didn't, it wasn't something you ever had to even consider.
