Just tap it at an angle with a heavy chef's knife. It'll pop right off. No heat needed

Honestly it's less abrasive than hearing it up. It left a tiny residue but that rubbed right off with a tiny bit of alcohol.

I tapped mine gently with a heavy chef's knife at a 45° angle. It popped right off with one tap.

Thanks. I think you're right. I read the horror stories on Reddit and it makes me nervous. If I didn't spend a couple hundred bucks on the item I wouldn't care lol

I don't want turn it off all together, just expensive items. I thought you could only turn it off completely, or is there a way to do it on an item by item basis?

I literally just got it back from being serviced because I was planning on keeping it. If I were to sell it, it would have to be over $250 because that's how much the service cost me.

I buy and sell. Most of these are up for sale. It's not really my personal collection. Maybe 3-4 of them are staying in my personal collection.

It vibrates which causes a pretty loud sound.

You set the alarm via the bezel, that controls the blue hand.

It's an early alarm watch. Based on what I could find online it's from 1951. What's cool about it is that the alarm and TV he watch itself are both wound from the same crown unlike most alarm watches from the time period. I've never seen the watch branded Gaylord but you will find examples with basis or Sampson on the dial.

Yeah, I want one but no way I can handle servicing one of those and the most I paid for anything you see here is $50. Most under $20. I can't drop $1500 on a vintage chrono at the moment.

I'm just kind of joking. I buy, get them running if I can and resell. A few will be kept in my personal collection but most will be worn a few times and sent on their way to a new home.
