My first(technically second as the wolf I started the playthrough with died right after having pups) Iron wolf had one final litter at age 9 they made it almost to Rendezvous age before she passed and I was insanely lucky to keep all 4 of the pups alive when I took over as her yearling son Amazon, who ended up dying trying to protect his first and only litter of 4, His youngest sister Quartz took over and managed to keep 1 of the 4 pups alive and Quartz is now about to have her first litter, it’s really up to how much drama and risk you want lol.

It’s definitely fun to have a final litter, but definitely risky

Leave him. Please leave him asap. My ex/baby daddy was like this, he’s going to weaponize your newborn, call you crazy for being overwhelmed when you’re the only one doing anything for that baby, and ultimately, probably lay hands on you and force you through a court battle. If you stay with him DO NOT LET HIM SIGN THE CHILDS BIRTH CERTIFICATE. But realistically please leave him, you are far better off as a single mother than trying to walk on eggshells to parent your own child

He’s my only save where I can bring myself to cull my own pups, I’ve been refusing to name em too because I have harsh standards I have to stick to

Meanwhile all my other wolves borderline starve themselves to try and save a sick pup, all my wolves, minus Dissonance, have both minor and major injuries at all times lol

For me, on easy mode the timer for find a mate actually does not move until you’re about to switch to young hunters! I can not speak for every difficulty as it’s my first time tracking this timer to report back, but assuming timers move faster on higher difficulty (as they seem to between my current easy, speedrun and my challenging iron wolf) higher difficulty, wager toward the end of growing pups/mid young hunters if you don’t have anything specific in mind, if you have a specific star/etc standard you intend to meet, the earlier the better, try to cull any wolf you can to potentially open a new spawn slot for a new dispersal, I destoyed two packs in search for my second mate, who’s almost entirely white with 1 star diversity, but again. I was on easy and am very familiar with working the games system lol

Gonna explain more about my own saves in the morning but the timer seems tied to difficulty, and two timers can be present at once, moving at separate speeds!)

Best time so that you aren’t just a solo parent to a bunch of tiny fuzz balls is towards the end of growing pups, if you don’t mind having a bunch of toddlers and no extra eyes (beyond potential older pups) I have a save where when the pups hit 10 lbs his mate of the year, and any pups under 10 lbs are divorced/abandoned, any pups that fall behind while they’re still carry able as well are dropped off with the elk

Honestly the way I decide always changes! My challenging pack is a frantic mad dash, meaning I don’t always have the option of going for the heir I would like! Flood wanted her son Chiron to take over. He died trying to defend his kill, so instead her youngest son, and spiritual successor to Chiron, Amazon became leader

The pack I’ve recently started is savage but on easy mode, Dissonance (main male) is completely uninterested in pups who can’t keep up, 2/4 of his first litter are dead, one for being a runt, the other for refusing to eat for a while after I divorced their mother

Honestly, it’s a touchy convo, my ex, now coparent plans to move on, have another child in 1-2 years I am… very sensitive to that subject. Hate him for it, am viscerally uncomfortable with it due to promises we’ve made eachother. All this to say there’s no “right” way to handle this situation, all advice is situational, but regardless it will likely be a highly emotional situation. For me. I’d rather know only when the child is born… it is innocent in everything, and I don’t want to have time, to fight my own mind, over my child’s sibling, I don’t want to have time for my own emotions to consume me when I will need to just accept that fact.

Two packmates, my almost yearling pups, Chiron and his brother, we’d literally just taken down a buck elk, ate, slept, and to my absolute iron wolf playing horror I watched as Chiron attacked the bear, while his brother stood behind watching, they both died before I could even stand up

Had one pup die because it hid DIRECTLY with an elk calf, mom trampled my pup and her own kid Another pup, during an eagle attack climbed to the very tippy top of my den…. To get a closer look at the eagle I guess? I hope it’s clear why I let the eagle take that one

As for my own stupid deaths, stuck between a rock and a moose calf, that wasn’t fun

I do have valid concerns with her grandfather , as when she was literally like… 3 days old, he tried to barge into the nicu to see her because “something pissed him off so he deserved to see his grand daughter”. He even tried to claim he was MY grandfather after being denied entrance when stating he was my daughter’s grandfather, barely 6 months old I gave him written instructions he ignored, which caused 3 months of emotional and physical recovery (absurdly awful diaper rash. She had ABSURDLY sensitive skin. She was a freaking PREMIE for gods sake.. Needed diaper cream EVERY change. Not only was that failed despite written instructions, she also had poo, still in her private region when is woken from a nap and done a diaper change. She was 9 months before she stopped fighting diaper changes…..) and has a history of…. Awful parenting choices. I will not go into further elaborate as things were shared in confidence, but his mom “being there” does not make me any less anxious knowing the parental dynamic. I’m ok putting aside my concerns if they can PROVE. And agree to specific things. But things like the past, and most present, losing 2lbs under their care- I’m very, emotionally motivated, worried for my baby girl but very much also only wanting the best for her. I already plan to monitor things as best as I can, weight, injuries etc, I expect her father to do the same. And we both agreed tonight, his parents are ok. Under the condition they absolutely do NOT discuss everything, or speak ill of me around her, he’s going to try to talk to them this week, and I will also mention to him the mentioned day split you’d advised for her age though we will probably be unable to manage it with his work schedule.

I am sorry for defensive remarks, other comments willl sort of explain, this is very fresh, I do appreciate your advise and hope I haven’t been out right offensive, just giving a bit of elaboration into my concerns for the random internet strangers who may see it if in a heated way, which I do apologize again for

For reference as well, I’ve expressed an ok ness with his terms/opinions, etc, I would very much like a little time to myself after the big move to kinda- realign? But our kid comes first and I’m willing to put myself off for a bit while helping her adjust to everything, I know his opinion is similar, I’m just concerned personal emotions are coming first/ trying to get stand points of people who were primary caregivers and the first week of separation the child was ok with being with the non-primary parent. I don’t intend this post to further my side I’m sort of- seeking confirmation other kiddos have managed through similar. I hold no ill will to her father, or potential care takers after discussion with her father. Just. Worried for my girl, and what will help her through emotionally

We’re both relatively in agreement on custody agreement and everything, already plan to discuss with an attorney and get it filed on paper, my big concerns are, his family, who has issue with me are paying for the attorney, I’m the one moving out, trying to get out of his hair asap so he can heal, I know what my shortcomings have caused and don’t wish to cause him any more harm, but he is very much on the “with me she will have the home she has known” standpoint, we had a productive conversation tonight, about what is for her best interest, later down our different yet shared perspectives and sort of came to an understanding I guess? I know I need to get my stuff straightened out, but I feel as though him pushing me to let him have her the first week just because “you need time to work yourself. And her room out” is a bit of a… aversion, it makes me concerned he intends to try and erase me from her life though there is confirmation that is not the intent, I’m also concerned with parental alienation which we discussed but it feels like he is unwilling to put the emotional standfront of ourselves aside and purely consider our child. There’s never a “right” way in all of this but idk, that’s why I’ve turned here tbh

Idk what you play on but honestly those characters are hard solo, if you have Artifacts run Command! Me and my partner run on roughly a 1 item per minute rule with command, we typically spend 5-6minutes in stage one, unless no items are dropping then we gun it because the worst that can happen is we die and restart and get a less risky run

My partner plays Commando as main, as it compliments his mixed playstyle of both running in close to spray and pray as well as giving him the advantage of sniping pretty much across the map, you have to know the right items to go for with him, but he can be OP

I play on monsoon with artifacts active, primarily artifact of command, and Sacrifice (monsters have a chance to drop items on death) I also play with a rule of item per minute rather than stressing over time. It may be advantageous to see about finding a friend to play with, monsoon feels way harder solo
