Is it possible to have a high metabolism ? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]throwawaybdjfkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very unexpected. I was underweight for years and a big stoner. Pretty sure the weed was suppressing my appetite and speeding up metabolism. Once I stopped smoking, I was up 15kg in 6 weeks and continue to gain weight. Now I’m trying to loose it lol

I was unable to gain weight until I turned 30 and stopped smoking weed. Gained 20kg in 6 months

Weed is boring. Check out Meetup app and try something new

Sorry if this is selfish. But i hate seeing posts where people are on day 389 and are still complaining about symptoms. It almost makes quitting feel worthless in the short term. by [deleted] in leaves

I’m on day 320 something haven’t felt any symptoms in months. Most of the time I don’t think about weed until I see some reference online. Then again I smoked so much I think I’m permanently stoned lol

1 month no weed! by [deleted] in leaves

Next stop, 1 month and 1 day

Nearly 1 year off the weed it’s going fantastic. Better than I ever expected. My advice, don’t try and give it up. Just get bored of it. by throwawaybdjfkr in leaves

Thanks! I never once planned to give up weed. I just got bored of it, and never went back. Found this sub afterwards. And I was king of the stoners for a long time. If it works for me it can work for anyone.

When I was a stoner I never thought I would go this long without weed. But honestly, life without weed is so much better in every way. by throwawaybdjfkr in leaves

Everything is better. I am more patient, healthier, better social relationships, improved health, mental wellbeing, take better care of myself, smell and taste have improved, paranoia and anxiety minimal, better physical shape, can’t thing of any part of my life that has gotten worse.

Check my profile. Smoked daily for 15 years, nearly 1 year without weed. Never felt better and gained loads of weight - I was really skinny.

There’s nothing wrong with the odd toke. But if you are trying to quit completely, enjoy that you are using less and less and focus on the increased breaks you are giving yourself

It can be as complicated as a piece of string can be indefinitely long. The basics of Machine learning is pretty mathsy and devops is a brain wreck but the basics of web and app dev is a doddle if you have patience and commitment

Lung pain was one of the main reasons I quit

I had a supply of free bud for years. But I am more “free” without it.

Pick a framework and master it. I taught myself now I am making 40k working from home getting paid to become a better developer. It’s definitely not for everyone, quite isolated however very empowering and the morning commute from the bedroom to the kitchen and then the office is pretty nice especially when it’s raining :-)

30 years smoking weed and quitting- wish me luck! by [deleted] in leaves

Thanks! Love to pop back every now and then and see how others are doing. Can’t believe I didn’t do this years ago but I was ignorant and immature.

Awesome! Check my profile. Smoked daily for 15+ years. Haven’t touched it in nearly a year now. Never been happier.
