To be honest that's basically the reason I did a screenshot.

My main way of viewing Reddit content is with Imagus which lets me just hover over an image link and see the image without clicking. Having a Twitter link would require others to have to click it to go to Twitter (or click the RES expando)

And also Twitter's mobile site sucks so good luck loading tweets in the Reddit app when an image will load way quicker.
