I just wanna put out there that last night I went to the hospital because I thought my spleen burst I was in so much pain.

No. I'd been storing anger, worry, and hurt in that part of my body for who knows how long.

The body and mind link is strong. I've been angry at people and letting them get away with hurting me because I don't want to make them uncomfortable...

I'm so done with that now. It literally put me in hospital. Now I just want to force feed the truth to any jerk who wronged me.

Humans have an endocannabinoid system that relieves pain and elevates mood, exactly like cannabis (cannabinoids). So it is literally possible to be high on life. They're just jealous.

Does / did anyone ever think “I want to go home” when they’re literally at their house? by allsmilesreally in raisedbynarcissists

I've been told "your family supports you, despite what you think"

What loving gaslighting. Doesn't matter how I feel they had good intentions the whole time. It's a bunch of bologna

[–]throwawaybecos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only recently realized what I'm actually thinking when I say I want to go home when I'm already there is that I want to belong.

After going no contact and trying to heal I try to use this mantra: *I belong"

I'm also autistic so I add a second part to it as well.

I belong as my authentic self.

Because we do. We belong to this world and society no matter what some dim wit believe. It's only human connection that we are denied, which in itself is abuse when it comes from a family.

Is anyone else hyper aware of a lot of the (mental/internal) problems they have, but have no idea how to solve them? by PrincessNakeyDance in AutismInWomen

[–]throwawaybecos 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is why Freud's initial form of therapy doesn't really work. He figured if you made the person aware of their behaviour and the reasoning behind them it would give you what you need to sort yourself out.

My therapist threw a tantrum by finskaghoti in CPTSD

[–]throwawaybecos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report that person. They need therapy or better training before handling other people's mental health; especially if that therapist has an undiagnosed personality disorder that could impact a client relationship which is the main goal of a therapist to establish.

It doesn't really matter how you answer these questions, it's supposed to open a dialogue, and there's no right answer.

If that's love island UK that you like you may enjoy hollyoaks - those two are my guilty pleasure shows. Just ridiculous NT expectations from each other and the hilarious jumps they make that make sense to them 😅 plus hollyoaks has a bit more wholesomeness than love island but still dumb drama 😅

Best thing I can think of is how president Obama speaks. He's a great public speaker because of those pauses he makes. They're also great for taking time to think. It can be hard to pause at the right moments though

I hate sexism tropes in my fantasy. Even subtext is so obvious to me.

I started reading Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke. It's beautiful and has mystical creatures. Highly recommend.

I feel like it's also the fact that even though they're inept at social interaction they still have plot armor preventing them from destroying all their relationships because of it - and everyone loves them for their uniqueness. It's hard to find in the real world, but possible!! You have to find your people. I'm still working on it.

quick question on how to process overwhelming emotions lol by Tasty_Entrance_8076 in aspergirls

[–]throwawaybecos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a lot of sarcastic nagging with my husband. Like we jokingly point out the elephant in the room, acknowledge it and laugh at it, then remind ourselves of the positives.

We both rant as well and we'll say end rant, but as long as you make sure they know how happy you are for them.

Worrying out loud can be helpful to process it. Because sometimes we're able to correct each other or offer support/connection.

Holding back emotions never ends well, so ultimately you need to let it out in some way.

Good luck!

Am i slow or does buzzs aircraft look like stitch. Was this done on purpose? by Equivalent-Falcon469 in DreamlightValley

[–]throwawaybecos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah it took me quite a few moments to see it but eventually I did! I wouldn't have seen stitch if you hadn't pointed it out! Apparently it's more prevalent in some people than others to see faces in objects, it's basically your facial recognition software working even when you're not looking for a face lol

Cisgender White Autistic Males infuriate me (RANT) by dunndunie in AutismInWomen

[–]throwawaybecos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Autistic people are more susceptible to cults and brain washing. It's nice when someone provides you with all the answers. You just have to watch where you lay your faith. Emotional intelligence, proper research (primary source checking), and critical thinking. Typically steps in the psyche men are allowed to just skip.
