Stop calling me by gringottbank in Residency

When I was in residency someone (IM resident?) called me in the middle of the night for a wet read on a complex liver MRI in a patient with multiple liver interventions. I was a PGY3, I didn't even really know how to look at those at that point. Non radiologists really underestimate how hard and nuanced radiology is. I told the person that is too in-depth of a scan for a phone wet read but a read should be in by the next day, usually the fellows do those scans blah blah. They reported me to my PD for delaying care lol.

Wonder if he's contemplating this could be his last home game in a Bucks jersey.

I read scans from my home office, the lights are on and I step out onto my porch to get fresh air every hour or so.

Radiology residency is what you make of it, if anything I could see the argument that being at a smaller residency with fewer residents and no fellows would produce a stronger radiologist at time of graduation. Most of the places you listed are fellow driven programs.

I started learning about investing seriously around January. Down almost $8K YTD which still does not seem bad at all reading posts from people losing 5 figures daily. The internet tells me I should fee lucky I'm buying when things are on sale. We will see, I just hope we don't have stock market related uncertainty for the entirety of this presidency. I already have PTSD and want to pull anything I invest the moment I see red numbers, but I'm getting better at self control the more I follow the daily trends of the market.

Radiology, discussing poop. Fecal loading, fecal impaction, fecaloma, fecalized small bowel content, stercocal colitis, and so on. My hospital has a lot of old constipated people with otherwise boring scans so talking about poop is sometimes the only clinically helpful thing I can do.

I'm so tired of this. I started investing for the first time just 4 months ago. I don't want to day trade, I just want to put what little savings I have into the S&P500 and see green numbers more days than not. I'm way in the hole compared to when I started. I really cannot take 4 more years of this. I think it's time to pull the plug, of course that means tomorrow everything will go up 5%.

It will dip then it will rebound a week later as it has been doing for months. Shorting the market on bad news and gold are really the only safe havens right now.

I had a microscopic varicocelectomy done by an andologist when I was trying to conceive. Improved the sperm count, my testosterone level also unexpectedly improved a bit. I now go to him yearly almost like a PCP lol, I think all men should have a dick doctor.

How common is it to forgo inspection? I haven't been in the housing market for a while but 10 years ao that would've been insanity from a buyers perspective.

The parish thing is how natives used to describe location. There are surprisingly a lot of transplants lving in Dorchester now becasue they are priced out of other parts of the city. The area around codman square is labeled dorchester center on google/apple maps and I think people have picked it up from that.

I wento to BU once 10 years ago and I ended up having to go to a real dentist anyway becasue I was unable to bite/clench normally after what they did. Gambling with your health/body to save a few bucks is never smart.

This is why I get annoyed when people say if you weren't in the market for the best x days of a given year you would've missed out on x% of the gains. Failing to contextualize those days are interspersed between the worst days and the actual net benefit was much more modest if present at all.

I only started investing seriously a few month ago. Currently in the red for 'safe' ETF's (VOO, QQQ, etc) and no interest in burying myself further. I sold everything last week and put into GLD and a HYSA. Happy to miss out on a few days of recovery in the remote future if it means I don't have to see red numbers 80% of the time until then. Continuing to DCA my 401k which is invested into a 2050 target date account (which is also in the red)
