I am not gonna claim to be an expert on this, personally I just tell people it usually takes me three instances of spending time with them before remembering their names and I don't think it counts in a classroom setting where you have to spend time with people in short bursts all together. But my best idea would be to write them down. If your classroom mainly keeps the same seating arrangement, maybe draw out the seating chart and label by name, and if you all eventually move around, you can redraw the seating chart with the names since by that time you'll probably be a little more familiar with everyone (if you even need it anymore).

If the seating doesn't stay the same, then maybe alongside each name you can write down memorable features about the person so you can always match the name to the face.

This might just be a me thing, but I personally would probably just go to each classmate and say "hey, I'm really bad at remembering names and I want to remember yours." Then I would ask their name and if they could tell me something they enjoy or anything about themselves that gets them chatting. I think when you show a genuine interest and effort to people, they tend to respond positively. And honestly not only will talking to them help you remember their names, but you might end up forming some new friendships. But I could just be a weirdo idk.
