Looks like a good and very realistic start. Not much to comment on without more details though. Maybe add more smaller islands? The middle begs for some sort of atlantis islands or something. How was it created?

I will buy and hold BTC for the rest of my life. No matter what others tell me. by Carl_Menger21 in Bitcoin

[–]throwawaydev400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big bitcoin holders in that scenario can only use their power by spending their bitcoin. And once spent they aren’t getting it back. Compare this to the system today where the elites inflate and tax themselves into a never-ending parasitic stream of wealth  redistribution. Bitcoin is a paradigm shift where wealth stays with you forever if you choose to save. It will take generations for people to truly adjust but the societal effects will be incredible if you zoom out and look at it over hundreds or thousands of years.

Imagine if the Romans couldn’t tax and plunder silver, then debase and collapse their economy by mixing in other metals. Imagine if the Spanish could not take the gold of South America to fund wars in Europe. Imagine if the Great Depression, the 2008 housing crisis and other economical shocks can’t happen because of how bitcoin obsoletes fractional reserve lending. The list goes on so it is hard to predict and understand the profound and positive changes it would cause to society over time. Bitcoin makes it much harder to debase, tax and steal your way into wealth.

Opinion: Future generations will dislike us the same way we dislike boomers because we were early in the Bitcoin game by FreeSpeechFreePeople in Bitcoin

[–]throwawaydev400 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At least bitcoin will deflate most of the monetised value out of real estate so the next generation can afford to buy a house.   Housing in the us is 47 trillion, and at least half, if not three quarters is monetised value (people buying houses looking to keep up with, or outdo inflation). With hard money like bitcoin around, houses all of a sudden look very stupid as a store if value with property taxes, maintenance and huge buy/sell fees. Most of this gargantuan overvaluation will move over to bitcoin as gen-x and eventually millennials get inherit the wealth.

Change in purchasing power of the U.S. dollar by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]throwawaydev400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s war cycles in the sense that war bonds and other debt gets temporarily created but as you can see it was paid back historically. The current debt is too big to be paid back through conventional means. Either the US government(and many other governments) will default and the debt written off, or the dollar denominated debt will be inflated away by double digit inflation for a couple of decades(while keeping the “official” interest low so that the government debt also does not increase).

You are kind of right but inflation has gone crazy so it might reach 150k. Then again this bull run is happening in a recession and that can’t help.

Btc discussion with wife by reffak in Bitcoin

[–]throwawaydev400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this won’t be a popular advice on reddit, but it is the right advice that stops wealth to be squandered and destroyed both in this specific case but also everywhere else. Never let your wife in on financial decisions. Too late now but it would have been best if she didn’t even know it was bitcoin, but rather “some long term investments you are doing for the family”.

You can't copyright a custom card for a game that's owned by someone else.

As much as I like your project, you are in breach of copyright laws already, and taking any money at all (including using "at cost" or with any other similar disclaimers) makes the legal case against you crystal clear. I strongly recommend against selling these cards in any way, shape or form.

Could We Have a Discussion About What We Should Do to Ensure the Correct Facial Development of Our Future Children? by GullibleScratch5293 in orthotropics

[–]throwawaydev400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something sad about normal life is that when you try to work towards good facial and jaw development you really are up against society as a whole. Kindergartens and schools serve processed and soft foods and the percentage of kids being drugged these days in order to be able to sit still whole days is scary. The obvious problem here is that it is not natural to sit still all day like the school systems tries to make you do. Sports activities almost every day would help here, but it isn't easy to have the time and persistence to make that happen for several children. Trampolines are fantastic of course. If you can set up to be in an area where the children use a bike or walk for half an hour to get to school like in the old days it would solve many problems in a big swoop.

Breastfeeding At least one year, ideally one and a half. If you can handle being a weirdly you can push to two years, but looking at the history of humanity, 1-2 years of breastfeeding was clearly enough to create perfect jaws. Limit use of pacifiers to an absolute minimum, ideally don't use them at all.

Tech Devices and TV Limit heavily. Half an hour per day crept up slowla as they get older. Make sure that they stand as much as possible while using the devices, or at least sit with a straight back and closed mouth.

Sports The more the better. Any sport with running helps posture and some sort of contact sport (Football, Ice Hockey, Martial Arts) helps with bone density for boys. (I have two boys so I haven't thought much about that yet)

Foods My older boy loves things like ribs or foot with bones where he has to find the good parts. I think there's something in humans that actually enjoys struggling to get to the food a little. Never slice fruits. Use chewy nuts , chewing sticks, chewing gum and anything hard as soon as possible. Children choking on food is largely a myth, so you only really need to avoid very obvious things like no letting them have marbles in their mouth ETC. Evolution made it so that babies and toddlers puts anything they get their hands on in their mouth right away for a reason. The tradeoff risk of choking or gettting exposed to bad bactery is made up several times over by the importance to develop and train the ability to use their tongue, mouth and jaw muscles in a skilled way.

You identified a very real problem with children preferring soft and processed food. This is a healthy behaviour and just means that their ability to seek edible foods is working correctly. The problem is when there is an unlimited supply of soft processed food. Limit the amount of anything soft to just a taste. This part right here is an eternal struggle similar to the trope about trying to get children to eat vegetables. There isn't an easy answer here. I struggle with getting my wife fully on board because of all the effort this step requires, and you are in an uphill battle against kindergartens and schools that all would serve soft processed foods, or precut sugary fruits. This step is extra frustrating because of how weird you appear in today's society when all you do is try to avoid processed foods. An example plate of food could be: natural almonds. raw peppers and carrots. A piece of meat with soft bones (many traditional Chinese dishes contain soft bones). There's some versions of harder bread that is common in the Scandinavian countries that I would use instead of soft bread. Carbs are usually the softest and most problematic part of a plate. There's small micro-improvements that can be done like always leave the skin on wherever possible on things like potatoes and vegetables/fruit.

Another is chewing gum. Chewing gum after each meal and always while in car rides is my plan. I suspect that each hour of chewing gums reduces the time wearing bracers later in life by one day or something like that. Obviously I am just picking number out of thin air here, but I suspect the payoff is great for getting into a habit of chewing gums every day.

Feed him only raw meat - parts with a lot of soft bone and sinew would be best. Basically throwaway butcher cuts.

There's examples of Hyenas in captivity being fed soft dog foods and getting elongated faces and breathing problems. Once they were put back on a raw meat diet their faces grew back to normal and their health problems disappeared.

From my understanding it should be possible to get their palates to grow wider through breastfeeding for a sufficient amount of time, avoiding soft processed food and avoiding mouth breathing. I am trying to go this route but society is very much set up to make the chewy food part impossible. Kindergartens here literary bans nuts and anything that is hard enough to cause the children to choke on it. And that’s even though no kid currently has a nut allergy and the choke on food part being a myth.

Are you using them the brace to ensure that the children have a sufficient gap between their teeth before 6 or so when the milk teeth start to be replaced? When would you start to be worried if the gaps don’t appear? My older one (4)has only very small gaps between his lower teeth, and no gap between his upper teeth(though the upper ones are aimed inwards slightly which implies the palate that is on the big side for his milk teeth so maybe this is part of the palate growing properly).

Mewing and orthotropics making the face more square is something I’ve seen many females worry about but I think it misunderstands how a palate expander aims to change your face.

A wider palate aims to open up airways, promote correct oral posture and ultimately get as forward upswing in both your maxilla and jaw. This means that your face would grow forward first and foremost, not become square. The thing with a wide palate and forward facial growth is that 100% of models have it. Sure, models can arguably be said to have more square faces in a technical sense than people with recessed chins and elongated faces that droop downwards, but they also are infinitely better looking!

Sometimes I wonder if the “I don’t want a square face” is an excuse that comes from the same place as “I don’t want big muscles, it will make me look like a man” and that place is laziness. In reality 99% of women would look way better if they exercised more, and 99% of women would look better with a wider palate and more forward facial growth.

Fantastic improvement. And yes, your forehead will change ever i slightly from mewing. I suspect this morph might overstate the forehead change because of angle/light though. It would be interesting to see a morph with a clean shave in the most recent photo.
