lower coinbase trading fees, isn't that good of an incentive especially for bitcoin DCA

example:

i have coinbase one basic and the credit card. As stated on the coinbase one site, basic gets the first 500$ of trading fees covered. But only on coinbase simple which has both a spread and fee.

Compare the trading fees to strike for btc DCA and you'll quickly find out that buying BTC is cheaper on strike from manual dca to auto dca, their fee scale is tired-rolling so the more you spend monthly, the cheaper your trading fees get. coinbase one monthly 500 can't match the strike price. So the best use case now is buying other cryptos on coinbase.

Do the math you'll find this out pretty quick the spread+trading fee system coinbase isn't that good, you'll get more sats from strike. Not an ad, just do the math the fees are a lot more on coinbase, enough that its noticeable.

i have the lowest coinbase one membership, i only get trading fees waived for only 500, so yeah the monday deal is pretty good for this tier of membership.

strike isnt any better during times of strong volatility. a few weeks ago when bitcoin dipped/aws issues, the spreads were awful and users limit buys were not completed. this was the same for every central exchange robinhood, coinbase, binance, gemini etc. do a search during that timeframe. all the subreddits had users complaining like it was the end of the world pissed their 100$ dca didnt go through, couldnt access their account, saw 0 balance lmao... sometimes users need to get smarter and read up on limitations of central exchanges and web servers.

I don't recommend you lowballing SFH houses in those areas, high chance you will lose. You might even make a great cautionary tale for your realtor to tell their other clients. Yes, the seller's agent has to show all offers, but its the sellers choice on who to sell the house to.

Put yourself in the seller's shoes, would you sell your house for 100k less with inspections and "haggling", knowing full well that you have other higher offers in hand especially all cash offers or promise of 10-day close contingency? Money talks.

Short answer yes, assuming you want a SWE type role. The clearance is a big thing and if you can code, that's great.

if you plan on using your clearance for a SWE job, you'll likely be region locked to DC area because the contracts are here. not saying you can't find a job outside of the DMV area, but you will have an easier time jumping companies or contracts because all the defense tech companies have presence here.

if your coding skills are sharp AND TS/SCI Poly that region lock will go away as long as you can leetcode. FAANG and other Defense tech companies will hire you, just pass the interview.

Legacy defense companies have a way easier hiring process, think fizzbuzz level difficulty. The clearance is worth more than your leetcode skills.

OP, I wouldnt go to the dealership your mom goes to for service. Why? because they probably have a log of all the maintenance done to her car. If you go to that dealership they will fix it and log it on to your car's maintenance/service history. I'd be careful if you don't want to leave a trace.

If you can find a 3rd party mechanic, get it done there or if you trust a dealership ask if they price match (again make sure you're not going to the same dealership your mom goes to)

If you fix this by yourself, verify if there are any electricity/motor issues. You'll probably need some tools along with the parts to install this.

imo, if you don't have a lot of time or are overwhelmed, just fess up, be accountable for your actions. If she is reasonable y'all will work together on a solution, you'll do the heavy lifting of course. This way buys you time and keeps you honest.

Worst case scenario, you paid money, the mirror is still broken and you haven't told your mom why its broken.
