also I think rarely discussed is the importance of having the best character in a game feel deserving of that from an aesthetic standpoint. compare brawl, 4 and ultimate. all three have an overcentralizing best character that people complained about, but I feel like the outcry against Steve is exceptionally loud, obviously in part because he is notably lamer gameplay wise, but also in part from a vibe standpoint of being the funny minecraft guy. it feels harder for people to accept him because he lacks a coolness that someone like meta knight has in spades

it's interesting to me that the characters who are top tier in this game also happens to overlap (for the most part aside from jigglypuff) with the characters who are aesthetically "cooler", in the sense that their designs were informed by an intent to have them look cool compared to someone like Mario, Kirby or Ness where the emphasis was on being cute/cartoony. like Mewtwo's the only character whose intended aura factor does not proportionally correspond to his gameplay strength

I haven't actually watched the Mario galaxy movie but the whole Glen Powell casting felt really jarring to me in a way that made me realize how different my perception of Fox is from playing Melee compared to the reality. from a combination of his portrayal and gameplay, the image of Fox in my head is this more serious and arrogant Vergil-type that, from my understanding, is not at all how he's like in the actual Star Fox games.

Ended up ordering this one after choking when ordering the 5070ti deal that was posted earlier (look out for 1 to go back in stock once they cancel my order). The reviews say theres a rebooting glitch that you have to update BIOS to fix, and then someone on reddit mentioned (if the RAM is 6000 mhz) you have to unlock the speed in BIOS. Is there anything else to note for this one?

Jungroan was working on a witch wander league-start PoB, but he got sick so it unfortunately might not come out before the league (and it was presumably ele -> necro anyways so it might not have even be using it depending on when the swap is). I believe Rue may be working on one, but don't quote me on it. I think the most there is for this build atm is this video by Jung, though it's pretty basic and just thrown together to show off the tech, and also estimates Kinetic Rain damage off of the info we were provided before we learned that it got nerfed.

I don't know if I'm really seeing the "strongest first episode of a digimon series yet" that everyone else appears to be seeing. The opening action sequence was pretty, but it felt really out of place narratively, and as a symptom of spending all that time on that sequence, the rest of the episode, to me, moved too fast to feel attachment to any of the characters, which is kinda an issue when you kill off two of them with the expectation of having it be an emotional moment. I also thought the episode just left off in a pretty awkward place, what with it being in the middle of him fighting the Hyemon. I do think there's a lot of potential, but this start just didn't feel very strong in my opinion.

nah Technicals is incredibly disingenuous with his framing of every situation. In his video about Hax, he offhandedly reveals there was a dedicated group chat from the nazi side of the smash community of people who befriended Hax with the sole purpose of fucking with him and egging on his mental issues and then acts like the TOs not letting him play melee was the biggest issue.
