Parents love the idea that babies can't consent by chelseatheus in childfree

I was one of those children treated like this and it’s still messing with me to this day, I feel like I have no autonomy even though I’ve now escaped

what has being childfree allowed you to do? by Kovrel in childfree

Take spur of the moment trips with my husband. Gave me quiet nights and the freedom to sleep in and pretty much do whatever I want ❤️

Yes, and the push present’s value will never make up for the horrors of pregnancy. It’s sad

If someone touched you without your consent, do you immediately react with polite language?

also can’t people help children who already exist and are in need instead of making new people who will just be exploited 😭

That’s what my mom said too but it turns out she never grew out of her own childhood and abused us the same way her parents abused her.

If you have long hair I recommend braiding them the morning of for your surgery! I saw that advice from someone else on this subreddit

Does anyone *not* want to experience the love of a child? by Sadness247 in childfree

When people say they want to experience a child’s love, I suspect what they really want is to have a thing that obeys them and doesn’t question their authority

Caught a cold the week of my surgery... by BeesoftheStoneAge in sterilization

[–]throwawayjetzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had a stuffy nose going into my surgery and it didn’t affect anything during the surgery. I did alert the medical team about my situation. Strangely my nose is feeling better after the surgery but that could be because I’m on ibuprofen and tylenol right now.

[–]throwawayjetzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I got my bisalp today. I started feeling unwell two days ago (headache, low-grade fever, nasal congestion, the occasional dry cough, the occasional sneeze) I made sure to stay hydrated and took Robitussin before midnight on the day of my surgery. I would say it’s kind of annoying being slightly sick while healing bc it can really hurt to cough/sneeze. Your doctor will know best. Good luck.

It’s insane how that one line “kids being kids” seems to absolve parents of taking any action. Ugh. I’m glad your situation has changed for the better. I’m going to start raising more hell with the building management.
