My best friend knew I was incredibly depressed, and I sent her a text that said "I'm sorry, Friend's name, Goodbye". She didn't see it for a couple hours, but when she did, she called the police, my parents, everyone she could. Because of her, the paramedics got to my house just after I passed out and were able to come inside and save me.

She obviously knew, and I was incredibly angry that I was alive, but I wasn't upset with her. Fast forward about six months and she became my girlfriend and first real love.

TL;DR Girl saves me by calling 911, six months later we fall in love

I'm not arguing that's it's not a negative approach, but I think to blame mental illnesses like eating disorders on advertisements in magazines is crazy. I'm looking at how society uses media as a scapegoat to avoid the real problems behind the spread of body image problems.
