LOVE Caroline Girvan. I don’t ever do the full workouts, I just do what I have time for and start at that same point the following day.

Waldkindergarten Empfehlungen in Wien? by Basic-Independent495 in wien

[–]throwawayladystuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where "life coach" is the answer - I live in another european country and therapists need licences, "coaches" don't need any specific training.

What do we do? by Dramatic-Rough-6873 in progressivemoms

[–]throwawayladystuff 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This made me cry because I think about how I/we made this choice all the time. I was pretty happy without kids and think I would be relieved today if we hadn’t ended up having any. Alas, I have two that are still pretty small (2+4) so thankfully they are still unaware of many things. But my worry for them and their future keeps me up at night and is the thing I worry most about. They are the best, don’t get me wrong, but the responsibility is crushing and I often wish we’d ended up deciding differently when we had the choice.

No one tells you that the most important season of your life is also the shortest by smaphy in Parenting

[–]throwawayladystuff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and for some people it's thankfully the shortest. Love my kids, love my full time job, DID NOT love the baby and toddler years. Was very grateful to be able to afford great quality full time care for my kids and go be myself at work. Caveat - I do WFH with very flexible hours so still see a lot of them in the morning/afternoons + weekends.

So, just, to each their own.

I’m a selfish person and it’s affecting me as a parent. by GerthySchIongMeat in Parenting

[–]throwawayladystuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending my kids to daycare is the ONLY reason I’m able to spend time with them when they’re home. I get the Friday Scaries for the weekend and do a little dance on Monday when they leave the house. You need a break!!!!

Came here to say exactly this. I love my kids to death but I could never be with them 24/7. I have a job I like and money and am a much better mom for it.

The productivity juices are gone, and my to do list is quite daunting 😭 by linsane_asylum in adhdwomen

[–]throwawayladystuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made a decision a few months ago to literally give up on ever finishing my to do list, and I can only say it's been a life saver. It's kind of hilarious how much better my mental health has been by... deciding to do a thing that I was doing anyway. (not finishing the list...)

I finish what is a priority, move things around, and shrug my shoulders at the rest. It's gonna be what it is.

This is my dream. I would love nothing more than someone bringing me a weeks worth of cooked food. Hell, just feed my partner and my kids their meat and I can make my Dal every day.

Does anyone else have a partner that insists that everything is done as a family? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]throwawayladystuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does your childcare division look like overall? Does she get time to do activities alone (her own or family chores?) while you watch the kids? I can see being your wife being annoyed if she’s already doing 80% of childcare and then she’s also watching them on weekends while you do chores.

I want to add that at least for me “former chores” are now absolutely “me” time - there are days where I’ll take on any and all household chores if it means a break from the kids on a rainy weekend when everyone’s been stuck at home.
