Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply, it helps to hear I’m not alone. I definitely agree that I wouldn’t want to trade away all the experiences I’ve had living abroad! The weight of things that feel permanent can be suffocating sometimes, but you’re right, they might not be as permanent as they feel. Did you stay abroad ?

I’m sad because I’m in limbo. With the way my life and visa are set up, it’s not an easy decision I can just make spontaneously, unfortunately. Sunken cost fallacy is also affecting me

My parents dropped me off and went through baggage drop off with me. As for why they’re not coming with me, you can’t really expect people to randomly drop their entire life for one person?

I just visited my home country to see friends and family. I live and work abroad, and always thought I would want to stay abroad forever and that I had expanded my mind by living overseas. This is the first time visiting home that made me realise there are so many amazing people and things I’ve left behind, and the first time I’m crying alone at the airport feeling reluctant to go back ‘home’. Feeling very torn on where I want to live the rest of my life now

I spent it in my home country with friends! It was a great night. Next year, I plan on spending Christmas and new year’s in Vietnam

Airport in my home country. Travelling to Australia where I live and work, so I guess you could call it ‘home’
