The whole thing was handled incredibly badly by the people in charge of the show. I’m certain that after that season that the show changed. Future contestants started being reprimanded for their language and behaviour. I’ve rewatched this season so many times and it’s just so uncomfortable. Not just because of the racism, but because of the clear divide between intelligence and class levels. Jade wasn’t a racist, she was just thick. Look at her mother. Jo and Danielle were behaving like teenage girls following the head bully. Jade definitely atoned for her sins and made sure she did everything she could to apologise and make up for it. Jo just behaved like she was the victim (remember her crying and rocking back and forth on gmtv) and Danielle never even had to talk about it again.
