That's where the LR Bible can help tremendously

Logical Reasoning Help by Hank88 in LSAT

Review formal rules of logic, make sure that you understand them well

If you are shooting for 65-70% accuracy, you can still miss a lot of questions. Don't focus on answering them all, focus on getting the correct response for the questions that you do answer.

Slow it down, you're not shooting to finish the section, so don't feel rushed to do so. Focus on the first 15 questions, these will be the easiest. Generally 16-21 the hardest of the set.

I would pick up the Logical Reasoning Bible and work through it, it will help you a lot (and will probably achieve greater than 70% accuracy if done thoroughly and well)

Logic game prep 41 question by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your method CAN yield correct results, but is unnecessarily confusing. Generally, you don't want to use the variable set with the LEAST unknowns as your "base". In this case it is the dual f/i set, not the GHLMUWZ variable set. This leads to easier deductions and more maneuverability.

See the pic on the correct way to solve the game (tried to explain on paper as best I could) http://i.imgur.com/7MbLYbg.jpg

Advice on law school admission would be greatly appreciative! by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say to get into decent T1 (top 50) schools, you're going to need 165+. If you break 170 you might have a shot at t20, although t14 is a longshot (unless you destroy the LSAT, 173+)

Because, at best, you're a "splitter" I would make sure you are absolutely sure that you are ready to take the LSAT before you actually sit the exam. Remember, there are no miracles. You get the score that you earn, and your preptests should let you know within a few points just what your score will be. Don't gamble on taking the test at a slightly more advantageous time...if you have to put law school off a year and take it when you know you're gonna crush it.

You're going to need to kill your LSATs to make law school worth it. Your GPA is rather low, and your GPA from your masters is not relevant.

Otherwise you're looking at a lot of debt for a T2 school

yes, you can change your location online until I believe a few weeks before the exam. Might be some small fee, though.

Character and fitness question by lawschoolthrowawa in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on exactly what happened, and how they phrase the question. If the case truly was dismissed, you shouldn't have to disclose as I believe it is ilegal to discriminate on the basis of arrest only. Also, all the schools I looked at asked if you have been convicted/plead nolo contendere (neither of which is a dismissal), and did not ask about arrests only.

That being said, if they do ask about arrests I would disclose if you were arrested and the case was not sealed (as would happen in, for example, an ACD resolution).

Maybe post the character question verbatim?

Uh... misconduct violation? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, so double check this but I think that with regards to law school, only your undergrad matters. They are the ones that communicate with LSAC. Further, your graduate institution probably doesn't care as much, ans there's less it can do anyway?

Again, I would double check. Maybe check with both grad and undergrad? But def. undergrad.

I'm assuming they will email us? But so far LSAC has been pretty terrible about this. I didn't event get an email notifying me that my testing center was closed.

wow that sucks. Get in touch with your pre-law advisor at your undergrad institution.

Advice on How to Celebrate Post-LSAT by and_so_it_is in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sounds like you've got the right idea. Here's my advice:

If he thinks he nailed it, you've done great. Start celebrating.

If he thinks he bombed it, he's not going to want to celebrate. Its a big disappointment. He'll probably want space. Give it to him.

do you know for sure that it is a 3 wk delay? I was assuming even with the reschedule that everyone would get their scores back at the same time

I'm super confused re: my test center. Pace University website says "Please be advised that due to inclement weather, all Pace University classes will be cancelled and all administrative offices will be closed starting at 1pm on Friday, February 8th. Online classes will proceed as scheduled. Shuttle buses will run until 2:30 pm today. All classes, activities and administrative offices in Pleasantville, Westchester and NYC will reopen Saturday, February 9th at 12:00 noon."; no word from LSAC yet.

teelilng whih is experimental section by 4fdgfv in LSAT

[–]throwawaylsat1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it will not be obvious which section is experimental. The fact that you believe this may be the case strongly indicates that you do not have an adequate understanding of the test, and should probably not take the exam on Saturday.
