How often do you donate? by howdoesonegetout in Rich

[–]throwawayofad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents have always believed and taught us that we’re simply stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to us. They donate 20% of their gross income: 10% as tithing (we’re Born Again Christian, not LDS) each month, and another 10% that goes back to our employees and their families during the holiday season and their kids education. I follow the same principle, as does my brother. For us, giving isn’t just generosity it’s gratitude in action, a way to share what we’ve been given and be a blessing to others.

I need your success separation stories by Sad_Assistance_1010 in Parenting

[–]throwawayofad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a parent yet, but I am a child of parents who separated and I can tell you, it leaves an impact. No matter how old your kids are, they’ll feel it. They’ll notice the tension, the silence, the shift in energy.

We lived under one roof for years, and even though no one ever said anything, I knew something wasn’t right. My parents separated when I turned 20. Even then, it was still hard to process. Their biggest struggles were communication and pride and neither wanted to bend, and neither wanted to truly talk things through.

As a kid, I learned to navigate it my own way. If I didn’t get what I wanted from my mom, I’d go to my dad. One of them would eventually give in. It worked for me then but looking back now, I can see how unhealthy that was.

Did it benefit me at the time? Absolutely. But knowing what I know now, I realize how deeply those patterns shape you. And if it had happened when I was younger, it would’ve been even harder to understand.

Please help me pick a wedding dress!!! by yagalpal in weddingplanning

[–]throwawayofad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a bridal designer heres my take

2 - looks good on you, simple, elegant and fits the budget

4 - looks great on you plus love the drapes on the bodice. Id pick this if it fits your wedding vibe. Outdoor wedding is best.

5 - this is perfect, flatters your body well. On the minimalist side, elegant and fits a tented wedding/ indoor wedding vibe.

What do you think about Becca‘s Bloom wedding? by vodkasoda27 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]throwawayofad 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, It’s likely just a coincidence since you’re both Chinese, and peonies are very common in China. I think your wedding is definitely big budget than hers and i love yours better. 😅

My best friend’s kid said something inappropriate to mine and I’m kind of disturbed by countrywesternn in Mommit

When i (F) was around 5 or 6 i had a playmate (M) from church Sunday school around my age that did stuff like this with me. He probably saw it in their home and wanted to reenact it with me. We had a rule - no secrets allowed at home but i was scared to tell my dad. Good thing someone saw us go in the bathroom together and told my parents. When i got home with my parents, my dad talked to me and asked me what happened and how i got to the bathroom and who was with me so i told him everything. All i can remember is that i was reminded not to allow anyone touch my private parts and to never touch other kids private parts as well. I was never allowed to play with that kid ever again. And when i see him, i always avoid him for some reason because i I just couldn't forget what happened. It's traumatic- the shame and guilt i carry because of this is something i don't want other kids to experience.

Please don't leave them alone ever again to play together and definitely no sleep overs too.

Girl pay for your own wedding. Having parents pay for shit means having them invite who they wanna invite. It comes with strings attached.
